    Refund on purchased movie

Help! I purchased the original 300, and to my dismay, it is the incorrect aspect ratio, and looks terrible on the big screen. I never would have purchased from vudu if I had known this. This has never happened and I have a ton of movies purchased through this service. Apparently according to other forums, the aspect ratio is correct in the trailer, so unless i googled for the error first, how was I supposed to know? I want a refund for this movie, guess I'll be sticking to my blu-ray.

Why don't you just watch from another UV vendor such as MGo or CinemaNow? They'll probably have the correct aspect ratio.

You should always be able to play the first two minutes of the movie. This is the same stream that will play when you click watch movie. The trailer is separate stream.

Two min of the intro might not be enough, depending on the movie but it is something to check before clicking buy.

Some movies with the wrong aspect ratio start out in the original aspect ratio until the introductory credits end, then switch over after 4 or 5 minutes to the butchered AR

So the two minute preview isn't totally reliable.

Also, some movies are the correct AR in one resolution. So you have to make sure to check the 2 minute preview on a device that allows HDX playback.

For example: Cursed (the Wes Craven movie)

The title is only available in SD on a pc, so when you check the 2 minute SD preview on a web browser you are treated to the correct aspect ratio. Unfortunately the HDX stream is in the wrong aspect ratio. Really weird for this movie since amazon has it in HD in the original aspect ratio, which is where I ended up buying it. Hopefully vudu fixes it someday, eventually.
