No Surround Sound

    Bejoy, I just tried our Atmos setup on the Sony A1E and i'm able to get Atmos and DD+. Since you're seeing the problem with multiple apps, it could be a setup issue or maybe your TV isn't up-to-date with the latest firmware available for the TV?
    I have been working with Sony tier 2 support for 3 weeks now. They can't figure it out! We have updated the tv firmware to Oreo Android and still no surround sound - still only PCM stereo

    It is happening on Vudu app and the Amazon app. The Vudu app on the A1E does not output Dolby Atmos anymore. It used to just fine for 4 months and then stopped after Vudu updates and Sony udates. I am hoping to get a new tv from Sony.

      Atmos is back! Sony tier 2 support sent out a technician to the house and they replaced the main board. The technician said that the firmware update to the Sony tv was the reason for the lack of surround sound. They released another update to fix it, and applied that update and it was still only PCM. Once they replaced the main board, Atmos is back!!!
      The technician said that he had to replace a few main boards due to this exact issue. (the firmware corrupted the sound output - is what he told me)

      He recommended doing updates manually if needed, he advised to turn off automatic updates. Any way, dolby digital plus is back!

I use optical Digital Audio out to Receiver. Netfilx and Amazon Prime Apps and Surround Audio are working perfectly.

        Stuck in linear PCM sound output on my updated surround setup and I can't fully enjoy these movies. I hope this is a priority.

          HELP VUDU SUPPORT!

          I have full surround w Netflix and Prime but just LCR on Vudu (a real waste since my library is all ?HDX?). VUDU was full surround before the update. I use a Yamaha TSR-7810 receiver.


          PLEASE fix!

              Hello,
              Same issue happened to me on 4-25-19, Second Post at the beginning of this Thread. When the Vudu App updates I am No longer getting Surround Sound, I am using Optical Out. Sony XBR75X940E. Netflix and Amazon Prime Video are working correctly allowing 5.1 Surround thru the TV Optical Out to the AV Receiver... The Vudu app on TV is updated to Current Version for Sony TV's with Android TV.
              The whole reason we use Vudu is for 4K UHD and the Surround Sound.
              I appreciate any help you can give.
