Vudu that is built into TV not playing UHD

    https://forum.vudu.com/forum/technic...-network-error

I have the same issue as above.

I just bought through the Vudu app UHD and I have the native built-in VUDU that came on my tv (Which is up to date).

From the TV I have the following stats:

    Philips Model: 55PFL5601/F7

    Network Connection Test
    Home Network: Pass
    Download speed: Pass

    Download speed: 40.0 Mbps

    Comcast Internet.

The App under settings will not let me even choose (Under Playback Quality) UHD.

    So whats the fix.

Phillips TVs usually don't support UHD on Vudu from what I've seen from other posts. Not all 4k TVs will support UHD on Vudu. Usually the lower end tier 4k TVs have the worst support anyways.

I hear what your saying however, when the side of the box has this as a selling point and the TV is specifically stated within VUDU's own compatibility list, and when the person that posed the same question had a VUDU employee ask for all her info...there is something wrong,

I'm having an issue with my built in Vudu, not playing my UHD movies. This is a new thing. It's been working fine, now just the last week or so, they won't play.

              Same here. Started recently.

Some videos work, others don't (e.g. Justice League plays UHD, Wonder Woman does not). All videos play HDX, as far as I know.

              - SONY KD-70X690E
              - Firmware: v4.401-1.100-0005

              - Device ID: 58b5399
              - UI Version: 5.1.01 (328869)
              - Embedder Version: SystemDriverArm11mtk 1.0
              - Client SDK Version: 3.1.0 (rev 186514)
              - Streamer Version: lps.19.01.31:276522-T1
              - Streamer Version: lps-d20.05.05:318017-m

PS - I tested the YouTube app on this same television and was able to pull ~50 Mbps UHD on multiple videos without issue.

I began having this issue recently as well. I went I to the setting on my Vudu app and changed "auto play" from 4K to HDX and my issue went away.

I'm having the same exact problem. I have a Philips 4K Android 55PFL5704 TV(5000 series) and my Vudu is playing SD on everything. All my apps are current. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the Vudu app updates. Still won't play in UHD or HDX for that matter. Please help!

My Sony Bravia has been playing UHD from Vudu app that’s built into the tv fine for more than a few years. All of a sudden a month or so ago, it stopped playing UHD. Screen goes dark and just sits there. Speed good, all updates done, other platforms that stream UHD work good. Any update on this issue?

I am having the same problem that other users here have mentioned. My Sony KD-70X690E TV used to play UHD movies through the built-in Vudu app with no issues but as of roughly one month ago (May 2021) UHD movies will not play. When I click on the Watch button, playback tries to start but the screen just sits there dark as if the playback is frozen or paused when it is not.

I have included my TV's model number and the built-in Vudu app's information below for reference. Please let me know if any further information is needed and when this problem will be fixed.

                        Sony 4K Smart TV information:
                        TV model #: Sony KD-70X690E

Had an answer for a few weeks but vudu took forever to accept my forum user request...

Anyways, if you are having issues with UHD not working, try switching back and forth from HDX to UHD over and over. My sharp aquos worked great until about a year ago. Now it will just not play with UHD unless I try my switching method. Most I've had to go back and forth is like 7 times, then all of a sudden the timer starts going while in UHD and it plays fine.
