    Unable to open Vudu app on Samsung TV

    I am trying to access the Vudu app, but I keep getting the error message "unable to request light device, check your internet connection or try again later." I have reset my internet, shut down and restarted my TV multiple times, reinstalled the app, but nothing worked. It has not been working for 10 - 15 hours. The Vudu app on my Apple TV works, so it looks like a Samsung app version issue. Please help, thank you.

    I'm having the same problem for the past 2 days. There needs to be an update on Samsung's end I believe, in order for it to work. I tried reinstalling on my 4k ultra Samsung 49 inch tv. Nothing works! My tablet and phone work fine, it's just my tv. Please let me know if there's a fix for this.

      Just went to Samsung site, they're saying it is Vudu, not them. Please I hope this doesn't become the blame game. If Samsung and Vudu can please work together on this issue, I'm sure there are way more than just us 2 posters with this problem.

      I've purchased movies from Vudu and have also purchased many vhs to video on the Vudu site, so please fix this!

        I am extremely disappointed with some of my Samsung smart devices and would really appreciate some help from Samsung to address this matter. - 844010

          This has happened to me twice in the last couple of weeks. I tried a number of things the first time it happened, but no matter what I tried I kept getting this stupid Unable to Request Light Device message. The only thing that worked for me was Settings > Support > Self Diagnosis > Reset Smart Hub. After resetting the Smart Hub, I was able to access Vudu again. The second time it happened, I had to do the same thing (but at least I remembered what to do without spending hours trying to figure it out). Anyway, it's clearly something wrong with the Vudu App only on the Samsung TV. I wish companies would just stop pointing fingers and work together to fix the issue.

            Hello folks. We're still trying to figure out what's going on with this. We've seen some success with being able to load the Vudu app after factory resetting the Samsung TVs so please give that a shot to see if that helps you in the meantime.

              I seriously hope you come up with something better than factory reset. We all didnt pay for a tv that requires factory reset for one app. Not feasible if we have to reconfigure multiple apps to get a software bug fixed on one app. I'll use my roku for now until you guys at vudu and Samsung get it together.

                To summarize, 'Please format your T.V. to get T.V. We verified this works...well, it worked a few times.' People shouldn't move to different devices to get to their content IMHO. IF you have other service that are streamable use them. The nerve of asking customers to nuke their T.V.s' to save face on troubleshooting or fixing bugs that should have been seen during QC is insulting. Fix this garbage issue.

                    Just recieved the message. "This VUDU has been terminated and is no longer available. Do you want to delete the selected items." Surely there's a better way than factory resetting.
