Need to have my device removed from someone else's VUDU account...

    Hey gang,

I've recently discovered that a family member associated my BluRay player with one of their friend's VUDU accounts. I have asked them to see about removing it, but neither of them seems to know the login credentials for the account, nor do they share my enthusiasm for getting this done in a timely manner. How can I release my BluRay player from captivity? Any assistance or guidance that can be provided is sincerely appreciated. Thanks!

    Kind regards,

    darichards

If you can give me the hardware ID for the device, I can remove it.

Vudu App > Settings > System Info

Can you just log into your Vudu account on the website and select manage devices in the drop down under your account name. Then just select deactivate device. If you have several and don't know which one it is then just deactivate them all and then reactive all your devices one by one. It's a pain but only takes a re minutes to reactivate them. I do it all the time when I buy no Blu-Ray players, iPhones, Roku's and sell the old equipment.

The Vudu account is not his/hers, it is someone else's.

I would think there would be a setting in the player app to allow logging off.

In that case each Blu-Ray player I've had with a Vudu app had a spot in the blu-ray player settings to either reset Vudu or reset all digital services (ie Vudu, Netflix, Pandora) and return the player back to factory settings. Then one could just log-in to their Vudu account on the player again. I've done this as well when purchasing used Blu-Ray players, Playstations, etc when I couldn't get the seller to deactivate the machine from their account or didn't want to wait for them to do it.
