    Re: Samsung KS8500 Can't Connect

So, I just got off the phone with Samsung Support and they were able to do NOTHING to fix this issue. They just remotely logged into my TV, did a smarthub reset (which I asked him REPEATEDLY NOT to do as I had already done this 3 times and it did NOT fix the issue)
Samsung is claiming that the problem is not on their end but in Vudu's and I will need to wait for VUDU to fix the problem and put out a firmware update.

Yeah, I had them go in on friday and do it and they have to go into the service menu and do a APPS RESET, not the smart hub. He did have issues but I figured out what he couldn't and Vudu is once again working. I"ve been searching for a way to get into the service menu on these new tv's but nothing I found has worked.

Having experienced the same ineptitude as you have, I would suggest you try again because Samsung?s Customer Support does have a few knowledgeable people and you may get lucky.

Also, one of the actions the last support person I spoke to had me do was unplug the TV for at least 10 seconds, turn it back on, go into Smart Hub -> Apps -> My Apps, and that?s when it started populating, including Vudu.

          Re: Samsung KS8500 Can't Connect

Put a call into Samsung and they were able to reset my apps and now my Vudu app works. I had no problem explaining it to Samsung and the lady was very knowledgable regarding the error 118 I had.

No patchfile or fix yet. Update v11.21 did not fix the install problem. Resetted the apps 3 times under the newest patch still NO go. I tried my KS8000 tv same thing happen as well "install error 118", so I give up. I guess the only fix is to call Samsung and let them reset your tv trick that others have mentioned. I guess I can just use Vudu by turning on my samsung bluray player, or use another app to watch my movies directly on tv. Very disappointing this has not been fixed yet. Not a big issue to me but a problem nonetheless that should be fixed especially now since its been almost a month now since the bug was spotted.

Worked fine the last several days, but now says "Error Please try again later" whenever I start the Vudu app. My other devices connect fine.

I went into "My Apps" and told my TV to reinstall Vudu, it downloaded to 100% then said "Unable to install. Please try again later (118)."

I went into my TV settings and reset the entire smart hub, then reinstalled all my non-"basic" apps from scratch. They all worked fine (other than having to re-sign in to all of them) except Vudu, which still won't even start, and still won't reinstall.

I tried deleting the Vudu app, thinking maybe the app has to be deleted before it can be reinstalled. But I was told "Basic apps can not be deleted."

This has been going on for 4 hours now, not the way I wanted to spend my 4th of July.

How can I get Vudu working again on my TV?

                Thanks.
Nor just Samsung Hisense and others I'm demanding a complete refund if they don't fix their problems be allot easier if you guys would help either fix it or refund they are not happy with me tried blaming Hisense until both were on conference call then Vudu hung up

                  Hello Libertas,

We are currently working with Samsung to push support for UHD for the 2016 TVs. There is no time frame for this support however.

As for the ROKU4 you should be able to use a ROKU4 and the Samsung TV to view VUDU UHD . You will need to connect the ROKU4 to the HDMI port that supports HDCP 2.2.

When do you see the not supported? When you play a movie or when you set the resolution of the ROKU?

                  Thanks
                  Tam

When you go to purchase. I was about to purchase on roku, movie Keanu, then I got the message. It does it when you try to watch the uhd preview also.

If it's telling you that UHD is not supported when you try to purchase, it means that either your Roku is not set to output 4K, or your Samsung TV is telling the Roku that it doesn't support HDCP 2.2 on the current input.

Could you first check in the Roku system settings that the output is actually set to 4K? If it is, then could you make sure your Samsung supports HDCP 2.2 on the input port? A lot of TVs - especially older than 2016 - only support it on one/some HDMI inputs.

Brand new 8000 Series Samsung, all inputs support, brand new Roku 4 set to 4k with 10 bit.

                        Way ahead of you.

I am told all the 2016 Samsung models all hdmi inputs support 2.2, all of them period. Regardless I know the 8000 series does.

                          Hello Libertas

I have seen issues with ROKU's 4K 10 bit setting having compatibility issues with some TVs. If you tried to set it to just 4K does the error message go away?

                          Thanks

                            Nope...tried that

And if that is indeed the case, yet another reason the Roku is useless, as the 10 bit is how you get HDR. I dont know what to think

Please PM me your VUDU Device ID for the ROKU.

Also if you can try to purchase UHD title get the error message and then play a movie trailer and exit the movie trailer. I will look at your Logs to see what ROKU is tell VUDU about the monitor its plugged into.
