    Sharing problem

I tried to invite people, but every time someone I invite tried to create a share with the ultraviolet, it fails. What can they do to fix it?

I think you're probably going to need to provide more details. What errors were shown or what didn't work at which stage?

They get to the point where it asks them to join an ultraviolet library or decline the invitation. They accept the join and the ultraviolet terms of service. They hit continue, and it says user create failed, and asks for a username. If you put in a username and hit continue, it takes you back to the user create failed screen. I've tried multiple browsers and computers.

I called the Vudu help line yesterday. They said there was no ETA for a fix, and that I should check in every 1-2 weeks for an update. So apparently I'm not meant to share for a while.

So it's been over a week. They have no ETA, but they'll let me know when they have something actionable. I'm surprised they don't have a way to do this manually for issues such as this, rather than just wait and see. It's okay though. I've stopped spending money on anything vudu until this is resolved.

So you are trying to use the:

            Share My Movies Status
Share your UltraViolet movie & TV show collection with up to five people.

            ?

If so, just go to MYUV.com, create a new UV account.
            Log out.

            https://www.myuv.com/ Log into main UV.
            https://www.myuv.com/en/us/settings/library Go to Library settings.
            https://www.myuv.com/en/us/settings/library/merge Go to Merge Libraries

Now, log in with the new UV account you just created and merge this person into your UV locker.

If your friend already has a UV account and you want to share that way, then instead of creating a new UV account, merge their UV login into your locker.

However, I would advise against merging your collection with other people, as people in the past have scammed people over this (most famously with a person apparently named B___k R_____s). He stole around 4000 movies or something.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I'll wait until they fix this properly, which should hopefully happen sometime. Merging libraries appears to be permanent, and that's not acceptable compromise to me.

When you "share" your library with someone, merging is essentially exactly what you are doing.

If you have a friend that has 0 movies, then creating a new UV account, merging it into your main account, and then linking that UV account to your friends VUDU is the workaround.

Which is permanent correct? I'm not looking for permanence. My friends have never tried Vudu, and they are the type of people who once they do will want their own libraries. So they'll leave and I'll be stuck with fake accounts in my sharing slots. I don't feel it's asking too much for Vudu to fix their own programs.

                    Re: Sharing problem

What the Share My Movies does is invites a new person into your UV collection.

MyUV.com allows 6 people in a locker. When you login initially, you are person number 1.

When you share your movies via vudu, what it does is MERGES a new UV person into your locker. Your friend would then link this new UV login to their VUDU, thus sharing all your movies into his VUDU.

Alternatively, create a new UV account, and merge it in manually.

                    Same outcome.

If your friend ever wants to branch off and take his movies with him (either by merging or using the share my movies function), the movies will stay in your UV account, and you cannot split a UV account in two.

Merging and Share My Movies is the same thing. It creates a second person in your UV locker that you can then link to another VUDU account.

Is this how I fix this? Because I'm having the same problems. I'm trying to merge accounts with my two brothers and sister so I can say I trust them 100%.

If this is how I fix it so they can see my movies this is what I'll do.

Plus I'm the one from here on out redeeming the UV codes.
