Samsung TV problem - video player not working

    Hello,

I have a new Samsung 4K TV - UN50KU630D for about 2 weeks. The firmware version is 1150.

The VUDU app has been very glitchy. For a few days it kept locking up, and I had to repeatedly delete and reinstall it, but it would work fine for a while. Now for the last three days, whenever I try to play any movie/tv show, it tries to load, but then gives error message: "Playback error - Sorry, video player is not working. Please try again." I have deleted and reinstalled the app a few times, and it is still not working.

I read that the Samsung 4ks have had issues, but another poster said it has been resolved, at least on a different model.

I do have a Roku 3 hooked up to the tv and it plays VUDU just fine. I'd rather use the Roku on a different tv, so I'd like to get the Samsung app to work.

Anybody have any more info, or ideas on how to get it to work?

    Thanks!

Re: Samsung TV problem - New VUDU customer, bought movies, can't view on Smart TV

I opened a support case 2 nights ago and have not been contacted at all. Incident 161206-001327 . I paid for 2 movies, which I'd like to watch as I am currently sick with a nasty virus. But when I launch VUDU from my Samsung SmartTV, first it says "loading" for a few seconds, then "Connecting" for a few more seconds, then finally comes back with an error message: "Failed to Connect to the Network" Curl Code:0. HW: SAMTNT14UN48J5200" and then some hex code: "FCF136F8B07DAC3529A. Device ID: 0x4d43bab. SW Build # 119888"
I asked what the SLA is for support engagement but so far nobody has contacted me at all. So I guess there is no Customer Support? I hesitate to post this on a public forum as I realize this is identifying my actual TV in my house. This post is in an effort to find someone else in the community that may have the solutions, since VUDU obviously does not care about helping me.

This is most likely an issue with a firewall on your router blocking required ports, so it can't connect to the VUDU service. Here is a previous topic covering this:
