    Unsecure Login

With the new update to Firefox, I am getting the message when I try logging in when I go to make a purchase, stating the login is not secure and my password can be obtained by others?

I have version 51.0.1 and I'm not getting any messages when trying to make a purchase but the title of the tab says "Unsecure Login" on my Chrome browser.

52.0b7 is what I have, and it's saying that on every site that requires a login now, so, maybe it's not Vudu.

It seems to say this for any site where the main page is not https.

The VUDU web app sends your login and *all* other personal information (movies owned, wishlist, purchases, user info, etc) over SSL/HTTPS - this warning is bogus.

            Re: Unsecure Login

I ran a trace on the session and it is true that ssl is being employed for the password/signin exchange. After a bit of research I found references for both Firefox and Google Chrome to this issue. Starting with version 52 of Mozilla Firefox and version 56 of Google Chrome both browsers will show this warning on sites where the connection is HTTP and the page contains user and password fields. This appears to be a direction intended to encourage the adoption of HTTPS for all browsing sessions. In the case of Google Chrome, subsequent version will increase the apparent severity of the warning.

The warning itself is not bogus. A page using only HTTP is not encrypted or secure, however in the case of VUDU the actual data exchange during sign in and during a purchase is encrypted so no real exposure of sensitive information occurs. Ironically enough the forum sessions all appear to use HTTPS for traffic. A couple of questions:

            1. Will VUDU be employing HTTPS for all sessions in the future and is there a time frame for this change?
            2. If not, is there a reason for this? Is it possibly due to the overhead of encrypting media streams?
            3. Will you be updating your telephone tech support groups so they are able to explain this issue to customers calling in when they observe the warning?

I called tech support 3 times due to this. In each case they indicated that they would escalate this issue. The first two times the warning disappeared later for a period, then returned. Had I been informed on the first call that it was a reproting issue and than secure sockets were beening employed for the signin/purchase exchange, I would not have bothered with the second and third calls.

Thanks for a great service. I look forward to your response
