Trouble redeeming exclusive Vudu content for Walmart's "Sing"

I got the Walmart exclusive Sing. I redeemed my digital copy through the Universal site, which added the movie to my Vudu account. I was unaware there was a separate code for the exclusive Vudu content that had to be redeemed on Vudu's own site, and when I tried redeeming that code on Vudu after I got an error message.

PM me the code and I'll take a look at it for you.

Are you redeeming the code at www.vudu.com/digitalcopypromo?

Can you check under SAVED PROMOTIONS section under Account Info and see if it's there? This must be done from the webpage.

It's there, but when I try retrieving it it says "Sing: Gunter's Dance Studio (featurette) was already purchased and available in the My Movies section on VUDU.
Sing: Best of Gunter (featurette) was already purchased and available in the My Movies section on VUDU.
Sing: Mini-Movies (featurette) was already purchased and available in the My Movies section on VUDU."

Should I try unlinking my ultraviolet account and see if that does anything?

This is not a UV issue since the promo code has been redeemed directly on Vudu. Let me ask about this and I'll come back to you.

What device are you using to view Sing? Do you see the Vudu Extras tab? The featurettes should be there.

Re: Trouble redeeming exclusive Vudu content for Walmart's "Sing"

What happened was I redeemed the regular digital copy code first via the ultraviolet site, which is connected to my Vudu account.

So the movie was already in my Vudu account when I tried redeeming the Walmart code on Vudu, giving me the error message.

I can see the regular bonus features, but not the exclusive content only available on the Walmart version.

Does it specify what those exclusive bonus features are?

This is what it says on the back of the box.

I unlinked my ultraviolet account, which removed the movie, and I was able to redeem the "saved promotions" but it only gave me the three featurettes I already had before. I then relinked my account and now it shows the movie and the three featurettes next to each other.

Those bonus features only pertain to the contents of the disc, not the digital version. I'm asking for clarification from my promotions team. It could very well be that the studio wanted to give everyone access to the bonus features as long as they own the title on Vudu.

No, the exclusive bonus content for Walmart was only on Vudu, not the disc.

Also, I know you're already helping me with this problem, but is there anyway you can make it so the featurettes aren't displayed next to the movies like this, which is what happened after I unlinked and relinked my ultraviolet account?

It looks like the problem might not be on my end; someone on the blu-ray.com forums redeemed the special Walmart code and only got the three featurettes that were already included in the regular version too, and not the exclusive bonus content that was advertised.

I don't know if there's an issue with Walmart's promotion in general, or if some of us just got faulty codes.

Ok, I was right. The extras that were given to you with the Vudu code are the same ones given to those who have Sing in their Vudu accounts. The studio had decided to setup Sing redemptions to give the Vudu Extras for this title as well. The Vudu code was redundant, not needed in the end. Sorry for the confusion, we will relay this back to the studio as feedback.
