Movies purchased through Vudu are not showing up linked in Vudu

    Hello,

I have purchased many titles to share in my Vudu account, but have noticed that some of them are no appearing correctly.

    1. Disney movies that get linked to DisneyMoviesAnywhere do not show up in linked Vudu / UV account. Also, some movies that are purchased through Vudu do not get linked in DisneyMoviesAnywhere at all. There does not seem to be a rhyme or reason on how things are linking. The issue is, if I purchase them through Vudu, I would expect to be able to share them through Vudu with anyone else that is sharing my account. This is not the case.

    2. Movies that I can see in my Vudu account that were purchased in my Vudu account, are not being seen in linked accounts. The whole reason to purchase them through Vudu was to share them through Vudu.

Bringing this up here as support has yet to get back to me regarding these issues.

    Thanks,

    Wayne

Disney and UV do not share the same content. They are completely different from each other. From what I understand, you cannot share DMA movies with other Vudu accounts. It's simply a depository for Disney titles that you can access with other providers that support DMA. You can only share content that is UV compatible. Look for the purple UV logo on titles that support it.

So what you are saying is that even though it was sold by Vudu (purchased directly from their store) it is not shareable by Vudu, in other words it does not go into the Vudu library?

This really does not seem to be the case, and I hope that you are wrong, becuase nothing is ever said when YOU purchased through VUdu that you are not going to be able to access it.

I am not talking about movies that are directly linked from another source (like purchasing through Disney, or Sony, and then wanting to share them in Vudu. This is all done from within Vudu. I only mentioned DisneyAnywhere because I see alot of the purchases (not all) that I have purchased from Vudu in that library.

I purchased the bundle of Star Wars Movies (all 6 of the first ones) and only 5 appear in my Disney Libarary (A new Hope - Episode 4, does not, but the rest do, as well as Force Awakens, and Rogue One).

And the only Star Wars that is shared within Vudu is A New Hope. The first 6 were bundled together, and yet cannot be shared, all purchased at the same time from Vudu and yet not shareable. I purchase all of the movies from Vudu, not through Disney or anywhere else (unless I get a digital copy with a disk purchase).

This would have been good to know that Vudu would not be able to share the movies that is purchased through them before buying from them, this is now a concern of mine where I am being sold one thing, and yet lied to about how I can access it.

Also, I have movies in my Vudu Library that do not show up in my Disney Online library, and are also not shared to anyone else linking to my Vudu library. And yet they are disney movies.

Disney owns the rights to all Star Wars movies EXCEPT A New Hope, which is from FOX. That's why A NEW HOPE can be shared with UV and not DMA. Vudu did not lie to you. You just needed to do some research on what content can be shared (UltraViolet) and what cannot be shared. Not all studios participate in UV BTW. UV enabled content have the UV symbol on their webpage on Vudu.

Thanks for the clarification. Was not aware that things purchased from Vudu were not available from Vudu. I thought anything purchased would be shared.

Thank you for clearing that up. Will have not evaluate purchasing more from Vudu at this point.

Defeats the purpose if they cannot be shared.

I think that there's more to this and it's a recent development. Previous purchase of Disney movies on Blu-ray with Digital copy showed up on shared Vudu library (Big Hero 6, The Force Awakens, Jungle Book). Recent digital purchases from Disney online by another user can only be seen in purchaser's library. But this week, Blu-ray digital copy of Paddington 2 (WB) can only be seen in my library, not shared one. Can this be explained by Vudu? Thanks.
