The issue appeared to me like it was a buffer overflow related to all the upstream traffic from the Vudu box. The voice adapter didn't seem to like that and locked up, which my killed internet access across the entire network. Just a guess, however.

BTW - I cut the cord to AT&T (literally) and plugged Vonage into a phone jack many years ago - definitely not an original idea - but a good one.
Yep the VT1005V was never designed to be a router. It was designed to plug into your broadband connection and then depending on variant of the box allow a PC to plugged into its network port.

Its best to let your router do the heavy lifting. And as long as you are getting good voice quality and enjoying movies at the same time you are all set.

If your router has QoS, make sure it is enabled and that VoIP is given the highest priority.

Well after reading that, I went down to the local Health Care Center and bought a cane and wheelchair. I'm now the proud owner of the new state of the art "Round About 2000". Comes complete with speedometer and pole flag! You better not tell me you've had one of these since 1999.
