    VUDU streaming issues

    I live in Attleboro Ma. I have Comcast high speed internet at 25mbps. It is 6:57 pm and ran a VUDU speedtest as I do nightly. I am running 23.81 mbps download speeds on my end (ran 3 different tests and all 3 were in a few mbps difference with each other) and only less than 800 kbps on VUDU. Comcast insures me that there are no issues and it has to be the VUDU server. Have gone back and forth before and did a trouble shoot fix with vudu and still no luck. I know a few friends that live in RI that have fios and experience the same issues and this leads me to believe that it is vudu and not the isp.....any thoughts?? Thank you.

    Vudu works very well on Uverse in Beavercreek, OH. I have streamed a few dozen movies with only one isolated incident of a streaming problem. The next day, we streamed the same movie okay.

      Agree with Davidp71...vudu streaming movies constantly requires buffering and asking to downgrade movie quality. I have Verizon Fios (Maryland) fiber optic running right up the house and all tests show I can stream in HDX quality...but vudu buffers every 10 seconds. I tested the exact same movie(s) via my AppleTV and the Apple box had no problem or interruptions with HD streaming. Vudu support directed me to re-boot router and vudu box.....still no luck after multiple re-boots.

        Hoping Dan... can help here - same issue as noted in the start of this thread. I'm getting 35 bits/sec. I can't even run the speedtest.

        1.) comcast cable
        2) netgear 6200 router
        3) comcast speed test 62 mbits/sec

            I too have Comcast at 25Mbps. Vudu worked great until a few days ago. Now it takes forever to load and once it does speed tests generally fail. I can use Netflix from the same device just fine. I have the smart TV at 2 Blu-ray players and all 3 have the same issue. 2 are hard wired. I even open one up using DMZ and still have the issue. I don't seem to have these issues with anything except Vudu. Sometimes the Vudu website even loads slow on the PC. I have run numerous speed tests on the network and they all seem to get well over 20Mbps.

              I just ran a Vudu speed test on the PC at http://speedtest.vudu.com/cdn1/
              it showed a fairly stable 3Mbps. 3106 down, 4213 up. No I did not get those backwards, the upload was faster than the download. So this seems very strange that my devices can't seem to even complete a network test. I did notice that this test took a while to start and was a bit slow to get going. Once it finally started, it hit over 3Mbps in a couple seconds and stayed there.

                  We've been having issues for the last couple days and have now paid for a movie that we were never able to watch. We aren't even able to watch a movie we purchased!

                  We only ever watch or purchase SD and the speed test has us running 1889 download and 4224 upload.

                    Old thread, but I can say Vudu refuses to fix their server issues and continuously blames the customers. It's quite frustrating.

                      Please tell us more about your issue: device, make, model.
                      If it is Xbox then we have a new firmware that's being certified to address couple issues with streaming.

                        Old thread indeed, but i'm just now having similar issues as the ones being posted about. As recommended by a vudu account specialist, I tried all the troubleshooting approaches explained (power cycle on modem, xbox and router) and the same problem is occurring. More importantly, after performing an internet search on the subject matter it seems it's a common problem. Running over 20 MBPS on the vudu speed test and over 50 MBPS on verizon fios HARD WIRED line. Movies title is still not streaming. Very frustrating, have absolutely loved this service up until now, and there is no way it can be anything other than a vudu server issue.
