It looks like it's fixed now, thanks Dan!

(And in the last test reply I was wrong, the previous replies were also going to "support@vudu.com", but they must have been misdirected by the mail server before.)

Re: Unable to Stream this movie at the moment due to a network error

I am experiencing this error as well. It seems my PS4 cannot play back movies (with the error stated here) and on my Mac, the playback screen simply stays blank, through either the standard player or VUDU to go, HDX or SD. I have to try my work PC, but my iPhone will actually play the SD versions with no problem. I have a few other devices to try, but I'm thinking it's probably a similar solution as what's stated here, with there being maybe an issue on my account?

I'll hit up support and see what happens.

          Hi Dan!

My reference # is 140223-001029. It is still shown as newly open, so I don't think anybody has gotten to it yet.

          Thanks for your help!

Re: Unable to Stream this movie at the moment due to a network error

              Hey Dan!

After going back and forth with support for a number of days, restarting my router, modem, and other network hardware many, many times, I decided to try the additional step of restoring my router to its factory settings. I had read that the Asus RT-N66u could have issues if the NVRAM is not reset after a firmware update and I know I've done several over time. This seems to have solved all my issues and even after restoring my settings, the problem hasn't returned.

I can now use vudu on my computers as well as my PS4 with no problem.

Thanks for the support from all involved. I don't think I ever heard the suggestion to reset the router to factory specs, but it's possible I missed it too. Anyway, if this isn't a part of your support suggestions, I would add it. It didn't seem like it should work only because literally no other service had any issue, but I can't argue with results!

I'm looking forward to actually using the service now, it looks really amazing on my PS4!

              Thanks again,
              Matt

If anyone is still experiencing this problem, I had the same issue on my Roku. My father began to create an account and never confirmed his email and it sort of locked it. I signed him out and signed into mine and got this same error. I rebooted the device, etc., etc.

I removed the Vudu channel and re-added if. This fixed my problem. It was as if his account was still sort of cached in the device.

                  hope it helps someone

I was watching a "Free with ads" movie. The movie got about half way through, played 1 of 2 ads, then gives this error after the first ad.

Previously during the movie there were 3 ads. Once it changed to 2 ads the problem started. Not sure if that's related, but if I try to stream another free movie I also get two ads, and the error after the first ad.

What device are you using to stream when this happens?

I have been getting "Restoring secure network connection" errors ever since I started with Vudu, more than 3 years now. Why I still buy movies through Vudu is beyond me - just stupid I guess. Vudu has never resolved my issue. I have a Samsung 55" TV which is on their list and my ISP download is 200Mbps. I initially had this error with UHD movies. It got better over time but for the last week I get the error with HDX movies. Since I have 400+ movies on Vudu and do not have the option to move them to another service, a legal remedy may be required.

If it's been happening for so long, it's more likely an problem with your ISP or modem. Might want to check if your modem is too restricted as far as the firewall is concerned.

                              Hi Dnorelius,

Have you worked with support to troubleshoot the issue as of yet? Does this error message dismiss on its own, or do you have to exit and re-enter the app in order to regain control? Do you see any network disconnects when using other apps on your TV?
