    Movie stuttering

I have a roadrunner cable connection 10mbps down and 1mbps up. The VUDU box has a cable that runs from the router directly into the back of the box at a length of 15 ft. I have even replaced cables. I have my box set to stream HD (at 4mbps) I have run into this twice I rented HD movies not HDX.. The movie will stutter and if almost act like it needs to buffer. If I hit pause I can see that the movie is downloaded more content than where I am trying to watch .. but still I have these problems.. It is constant every 10 minutes or so throughout the whole movie.. IT SUCKS!!! I have also insured that there is nothing else on the network that could be sucking up bandwith All computers are off. Please help me with this as it is terrible and my wife wants to take back the vudu box.. Downloaded or purchased media seems to be ok.

Your experience is not typical nor is it tolerable.

Please post your system ID, the name of movies involved, and approixmate viewing time. This will help the engineers identify your problem and solve it. You should also send a message to support using the form at http://supports.vudu.com//contact and be sure to ask for a credit back on the problem rentals.

If you'd post your SYSTEM ID and the name of the movies involved, you may get the help you are seeking. If you aren't sure what this means, please say so.

            Re: Movie stuttering

One other thing to try is "rebooting" your Vudu if you see this. This is especially helpful if you have been in Vudu Labs and have played a third party video file that has confused the Vudu.

Regardless, you really need to post your SYSTEM ID and the name of the movie(s) that you have had problems with. BTW, have you had good luck with other HD titles?

                Re: Movie stuttering

We know that the support group is swamped right now with all the last minute Best Buy sales. I don't know exactly how they do triage, but I'd guess they are prioritizing things as follows:

                Group 1 - Can't activate
Group 2 - Missing movie credits
Group 3 - Techncial problem (i.e. somebody like you)

While they will surely get to you as soon as possible, there's a good chance that if you can actually post that information I suggested a few days ago in this thread, one of the engineers will spot it and may be able to solve the problem ASAP. That's not a promise, but it is only to your advantage to let us know your SYSTEM ID and the name of the movie(s) you had a problem with. I am also curious if you have otherwise had a good experience with other movies on your Vudu.

Defintely not normal. I don't think I've even seen any stuttering on my 3 boxes in the past year.(well I've had two for a year and one for 2 months)

                          Re: Movie stuttering

I've only watched one movie on your list (Get Smart HD) and it was fine, but I'm pretty sure we'd be hearing a ton of noise if any of those movies have bad encodes. I'm leaning towards the idea that you got a bad Vudu that will need to be repaired/replaced. The good news is that they will refund your money for the bad movies. I imagine you'll get an email fairly quickly to initiate a resolution to this matter.

I'm having the same issue on HD only videos.

I'm currently watching "Wind Talkers" in HD and it's doing it annoyingly often.

I'll find my system ID later if it's mandatory.

Well, if you want the engineers to solve the problem you really should post your System ID, the movie title with the problem, and the approximate time the glitch happened. You should also send a report to http://support.vud.com/contact and tell them - be sure to ask for a credit on your account if the movie experience was not acceptable.

There are a lot of people having no problem, so getting the few folks with the problem involved with the engineers is the only way to fix this.
