I want to ACTUALLY download my video library for offline use (stream over network)

    1. I use vudu because of the ability to keep a library offline sense I want to know that I will get what I paid for and I will always have access to my library.
    2. I recently purchased a NAS storage device and attempted to use your utility to download my video library.
    3. My son has the library downloaded to his PC , but I want to be able to stream from my home media server on my NAS device to my blue-ray player, because currently Comcast has a data limit in effect for my area and this way via streaming over my network i'm not using data as the information is actually offline (after the first download should if I can actually do this.)
    4. Can I actually download the videos and have them stored on my (network attached storage device) and stream them to the other players in my house? I paid for this movie there should be a way for me to do that. Note I have many digital only copies of these tittles but I paid for them and should be able to use them on my other devices as such.

Currently vudu uses proprietary downloads that only work inside their player, and it is not portable. There is a common file format that is portable, and I hope vudu will support this format soon. I and millions of others are waiting to be able to download our movies, and play them on any UV players.

Please, vudu give us the CFF!

Millions of others? Sounds like you've been busy. How many Vudu customers are there?

Well, there are about 18 million UV accounts in the US, and I would guess about half of them use Vudu, which is the most popular UV provider, so that's about 9 million.

I have no idea if your number is accurate, but for the sake of argument, let's assume you're right. How many of those 9 million did you find out want to download movies? I don't recall you asking me, but put me down as a "no."

To answer your question (or not), yes and no.

See, embedded Vudu apps (on TVs, Blu-ray players, etc) will need to use local storage if they are even able to do so. So for them, the answer is no.

For Windows computers, it might be possible using symbolic links (basically redirecting a local folder to a mapped network drive). VuduToGo will not let you move the download directory, but you can redirect that directory to a network drive. Check here on the forums for the term "symbolic link", or Google it. I haven't done it myself, but I believe others have. However, since we're circumventing the intended use of VuduToGo, the mods may (rightfully) close threads about it.
