It cant be us, its gotta be you.

I'm reaching my wits end. I had the switch to hd/sd message very nearly everytime I watch a video on the vudu app. I am watching through an Amazon 4k fire stick with my Lan cable running directly to the unit in addition to using an extender on my fire unit from my TV to avoid interference. I've speed tested to 31 mbps. I use other apps like moviesanywhere, Netflix, Amazon, and hulu and I've not encountered any problems streaming 4k/uhd/hdr with any of them, even on peak times during the week. I've spent hundreds of dollars on the good deals they have through the vudu store and have wanted to build my video library with vudu because they offer a very decent selection. None of it matters if it buffers the way it does. I've read the other posters frustrated with this type of issue and it seems like every 'solution' involves someone else's tech like the ISP or the TV or the streaming device. I'm not inclined to believe any of that if I'm getting results with other apps. Where do we go? Refund me all of my money? Trouble-check my account? What do we do?

Have you called Vudu support for help? Vudu does not support any Amazon Fire devices, not sure if that's part of your issue. They might still be able to help you but might not since you're using an unofficially supported device.

Even if it's not officially supported, its 2019. They need to have a functioning piece of software that caters to its clients needs. Why ask me to spend money on the films if they're going to give sub-par delivery. Nowhere does it say that it's not an unofficially supported device. Why offer the software on the device and then take money? I hope you're wrong. I'd like a reply from them on that

Vudu does NOT offer their app on the Amazon app store, therefore they didn't "ask" you to spend money with them. You must have side-loaded the app on your Amazon device. Just call Vudu support and get your answer instead of waiting for a mod to reply.

Your life will be much simpler if you use one of the many devices that are Vudu compatible. Amazon is known for not working and playing well with others. Amazon wants you to watch movies and TV shows on their App and make it inconvenient and difficult to use other Apps.

But Netflix, moviesanywhere, HBO work just fine. It's not Amazon. I appreciate all the responses, I really do. I just think Vudu should own up to being a streaming app that offers non-problematic 4K content. It should be a standard these days, especially if someone decided to pay them money for it.

Vudu does not support the Amazon Fire device line. Side-loading the Vudu android app on unauthorized Android devices is done at your own risk.

Buy a supported device like everyone else. Solved. I'd love to play Mario Kart 8 on my Playstation 4, but I'm not mad at Sony that it doesn't happen.

Amazon is highly competitive with Walmart and since Vudu is owned by Walmart, it creates a problem. I have a bad feeling BD players are going to start losing apps, they just lost WWE and some other app that I can't remember. But Vudu wise, I haven't watched an entire film on my newer BD player but I watched 20 minutes of IT and it worked pretty well.
