Vudu Forum Guidelines

The Vudu Forums are designed to help viewers get the most out of their Vudu experience. Here, Vudu customers may post information, questions, ideas, etc. on the subject of Vudu and Vudu -related issues (home theater, entertainment, etc). Although the primary purpose of these forums is to help Vudu customers with questions and/or problems with their VUDU service, there are also off-topic areas available within the Vudu Forums for users to chat with like-minded people, subject to the limitations below.

Please post all comments in English. When posting a comment in the Vudu Forums, please conduct yourself in a respectful and civil manner. While we respect that you may feel strongly about an issue, please leave room for discussion.

Vudu reserves the right to refrain from posting and/or to remove user comments, including comments that contain any of the following:

1. Obscenities, defamatory language, discriminatory language, or other language not suitable for a public forum
2. Email addresses, phone numbers, links to websites, physical addresses or other forms of contact information
3. "Spam" content, references to other products, advertisements, or other offers
4. Spiteful or inflammatory comments about other users or their comments
5. Comments that may potentially violate the DMCA or any other applicable laws
6. Comments that discuss ways to manipulate Vudu products/services, including, but not limited to, reverse engineering, video extraction, and file conversion.

Terms of Use - User Comments, Feedback, Reviews, Submissions

Playback Error on Samsung TV App

    Playback Error on Samsung TV App

    Hi

    I am getting Playback Error when trying to play any movie on my Samsung TV Vudu app. It says "Sorry, the video player has stopped working. Please try again."

    I tired reinstalling the App but it doesn't help. I have a Samsung UN55KU6300FXZA TV.

    Can someone help?

    I'm having the same issue with my KU630D (costco version) yesterday (12/30) and today (12/31).

      I unplugged my TV and plugged it back in. VUDU is playing now.

        I get the same thing. This has been happening for a few weeks now. The "playback error" happens on VUDU, FandangoNow, and perhaps other apps. Resetting the smarthub temporarily fixes the issue, but that's a huge waste of time signing back in. Unplugging the tv is also not a possibility since I have the TV wall mounted and it's almost impossible to get my hand into the recessed box.

        This has to be a Samsung issue......again.

          I agree. I had to unplug/replug again yesterday to get Amazon to work. It must be a Samsung issue.

            Glad this isn't just my equipment. First hit me last week while we were watching a movie it froze up and hasn't been the same since. Wonder if it was an FW update that has made these apps wonky. Will try the hard power reset.

            *Edit* Would suspect Samsung issue as I have 2 other Samsung devices that are playing VUDU content fine. Must be isolated to certain models.

                I am having the same issue with the VUDU app on my Samsung TV. All other apps work fine, netflix, hbo, hulu etc. Has anyone found any solutions to this issue?
