Playback problems on Galaxy Note 10.1 (4.1.2)

First things first: Kudos to VUDU for finally releasing an Android app! When the app was released I instantly installed it on my Galaxy Note 10.1 with Jelly Beans (4.1.2)... just to be totally disappointed.
Playback within the app is stuttering. No matter if I stream or download the video. It seems like an A/V-sync problem, because when I start the playback, there is always a loud plop sound. Then the video plays for like a second, then stutters, plays again for roughly a second, then stutters again, plays again, stutters... you get the idea.
Anyone else using a Galaxy Note 10.1 and having the same issues?
Any help very welcome! Thank you!

    Tobi

Unfortunately this is a known issue. We are working on a solution but have no date yet. Once we have this issue worked out we will release on a lot more Android platforms.

Thank you for your fast reply. At least it's good to know, that it's not a problem with my device and that VUDU is aware of the issue.

      Best regards

Any word on when this may be fixed? I just transfered 10 disks to digital and would love to take them with me on my tablet (note 10.1). I am soo excited to have Vudu on my Andriod device.

Not yet, we'll make sure to update as soon as we have something to report.

            @lerouejr

I re-tried the app a few days back and could play a few minutes of Game of Thrones S01E01 (streaming) and I watched the 2min preview from "Arrow S01E01".
Would be interesting to check, if you can also play the Arrow Preview.

A newer version will be released tonight or this weekend. That version should fix the issue on Note 10.1

Re: Playback Problem on my Galaxy Tab 2 10.1

I am having a similar issue, although not as bad, I downloaded Witches of Eastwick to watch away from wifi. On playback it plays steadily for 5 or 10 minutes then it goes into stutter mode for maybe 15 seconds and then resumes regular playing. Would it be a good idea to delete the download and re-download with it closer to my router? Please let me know your thoughts. My speed is anywhere from 20 to 30 MBPS but I don't know how consistent the stream is.
                Thanks,
                Paul

                  Hi Paul,

The real underlying problem with Note 10.1 has been fixed with recent firmware. Yours should be some corner case. If the movie was fully downloaded can you turn on Airplane mode and see if you have any stuttering issue? Can you also tell me if the playback is stuttering at exact same spot of the movie? If it's exact spot then there may be problem with the movie itself or the file has been downloaded.

Let me know what you find.
                  Thanks,
                  LLN

This isn't a Note it's a wifi tab 2 and there is no airplane setting. I will re-play the movie from download and see what happens.

If it doesn't have Airplane mode you can just simply turn off wifi.

                          Hi Volker,

You indicate that Vudu should be released on a lot more android platforms. I have the Galaxy Note 2 which is perfect for movie playback. I really, REALLY, want vudu on this platform. Do you have an indication of when this will happen?
