    iPad Mini offline playback

I have an original iPad mini that I bought for my kids to watch movies on during long trips, now I cant because it says I have to update to iOS10 to watch downloads. But my iPad mini cant update past iOS9 so does that mean that my iPad is no longer supported or is there going to be a fix for this?

I realized the same thing recently. Sadly, since the original iPad mini is no longer going to be updated then the answer to your question is that most likely there will never be a fix for this.

I am experiencing the problem in that the download button no longer appears for me on ios9. The ipad still behaves like new. Lack of support for ios9 will mean searching for an alternative to VUDU. Netflix still allows download on ios9...

Apple is the worst, I hate apple! They purposely drop support (firm updates) after 2 years on average. This is all designed to inconvenience you so bad, you run out and but the new version upgrade.

This has been a Apple staple for years, many years, for a long, long time.

There are are a number of reason for this, but I will avoid discussing to avoid a hot and heavy discussion.

In in any case this not Apple exclusive and no hardware product supports future software eventually.

The original iPad mini has been out since 2012, newly 7 years. This is no where near 2 years, nor on average. I have an Apple Mac Mini that?s older than that and is still running fine; along with iPad Pro v1 and iPad Mini v4 also purchased used, years after release for a fraction of the new price.

And there is is a factor of keeping a constant, consistent, and reliable experience which can often NOT be said with Android and Windows equipment, which I also own plenty of which are not updated by their various manufacturers after a couple of years as well (LG and Samsung I?m looking at you).
