          Re: VUDU App Release Notes

This new update has ALOT going for it. Finally a fully mobile and touch friendly Vudu app!

          THE BEST NEW FEATURES
          - Visually Excellent - navigation is simple, controls are larger, less tabs and more scrolling(with 'stickies' too). The interface all have been waiting for.
          - More content is accessible such as trailers and some bonus content.
          - HDX Streaming and downloads
          - Redeem code links now present (still points to a browser, better if it can be fully incorporated into the app itself)
          - Chromecast support returns, now with a much easier way to activate.
          - Search seems to be improved and simplified.

          NEEDS WORK
          - FIXED VIA UPDATE _ THANKS VUDU!!!!!! Where is the sort function? I hope to assume this was not yet ready for the release, and was delayed slightly? Of course, Users will need to be able to sort their collection as before: A-Z, date added, by release year, and the others if possible. But those mentioned are the bare minimum needed.

          - [EDITED FROM PREVIOUS - found out app was using SD card for storage] SD card download saving is included in the app, just wish the app would add text that indicating the SD card is in use as storage.

          - Some extra features are now present (thank you!) but would love to see access to all bonus features (where available) on mobile. Would not consider this a a mandatory feature like the other two, but would be nice to have.

Congrats on a TOP NOTCH update, thanks Vudu!

A necessity for anyone who travels or watches movies outside of Wifi zones. Needed in particular for this release as HDX downloads are very large. As Google is adding new SD card features to Marshmallow- hopefully Vudu can continue its support of exterior storage. May have to revert to old version if this is not added.
i would guess that sd card download saving is not a priority as Samsung has abandoned sd cards and Apple never has had them

                  Re: VUDU App Release Notes

After the update, I had to deactivate my phone from my account and re-add it. I'd guess that my Android updates since I first installed the Vudu app made it think it was a different phone, so it's worth checking to see if your device shows up twice nice on your equipment list.

The new version really is pretty slick, though. I do hope the usual sorting options make a return, but I watched a bit of a movie on it and it worked really well. Nicely done, mobile team!

                      Re: VUDU App Release Notes

The Android software update is a *****massive***** improvement. Great job by the app development team!

However, I ran into couple of issues/bugs while using it over this past weekend, primarily with a Chromecast (Some of these have already been mentioned in this thread):

                      1) No movie or TV sorting options under My VUDU. Default sort is always most recently-acquired movie first.
                      2) Searching under My VUDU searches the store, and not your TV/Movie library.
                      3) Halfway through the movie, the VUDU app shut down and the Chromecast stream stopped. Phone is Droid TURBO running Android 5.1.
                      4) I noticed that there is no way to change the streaming quality of a Chromecast stream. For me it was always HQX and I couldn't get it to stream as SD or HQ. I did not try adjusting my default stream settings in the VUDU settings, but even if that worked there should be a toggle while the Chromecast is playing.

Use a file Explorer app to access the SD card, then click on the Android file, then click on data. In the data subfolder, you should see the file air.com.vudu.air.download; click on it, then click on the subfolder media. The numbered subfolders under media are the downloaded movies.

                          Re: VUDU App Release Notes

Happy for Android users, but as an iOS user I am still stuck begging for an HD update.

I'm glad to see the licensing is finally worked out, but since that has been the excuse for years to not support HD I would hope an iOS update will soon be forthcoming. At least an update on any progress on that front would be hugely appreciated.

PLEASE get HDX onto the iPad, Vudu!

Thanks for this info! I was able to find. I will update my original post, now indicating that I only hope Vudu will add text that indicates the SD card is in use as storage.

                                Re: VUDU App Release Notes

I continue to have issues with the audio. I am on a LG G3 running the latest software but if I watch a new movie like age of ultron and use headphones or my Bluetooth speaker I only get the surround sound audio. I lose all the voices like the center channel is off. If I pull the headphones I get the full audio from the phone speaker.

I have uninstalled cleared data all with no luck.

This was escalated to tech but they have not responded.
