And Samsung keeps promising a Lollipop update for my Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4, but has yet to deliver (latest ETA is early 2016). Both are more than capable of HDX playback except for Vudu's choosing a DRM that only supports it on Lollipop & later; every other UV app appears to support HD on KitKat.
Sorry to hear that, but unfortunately there isn't much that we can do in this case. VUDU is forced by studio's contract to use a more restrictive DRM technology when we provide HD/HDX content.

Hi, any progress on the bug with the blue circle going round with just audio until the following error message comes up: "Whoops, something went wrong. Pease restart Vudu & try again."? Thanks

          Re: VUDU App Release Notes

I am no longer able to watch both downloaded movies or streaming movies that I own. The vast majority of my movies are SD. When I try to play either a downloaded or a streaming movie, it gives me this message: Sorry! Your device isn't certified for HD/HDX playback, but you can watch in SD. Press OK to go back and try again." When connected and I hit OK, it takes me back to the movie main page, and each time I try to play, it gives me the same message. When offline and I try to watch a downloaded movie, it gives me the same message. When I hit OK, it shuts down & restarts the VUDU app. It has never down this before and really just started when y'all fixed thumbnail issue when offline. Any thoughts? Currently I cannot watch my owned VUDU movies on my Android smartphone with the new app. I look forward to hearing from you!

Since the new software release, I can no longer use the fast forward, pause or rewind buttons due to the tablet soft keys (screen) blocking them. Any way to fix that?

              Thanks!

If you haven't already, I suggest using a computer and browser to login to vudu.com, and then unlink and then relink your UV account.

I just ran into this issue today. I'm running the most up-to-date version of the app on my GS4 (verizon). I watched a downloaded tv episode this afternoon in HD. This evening when I opened the app it said my device is not HD/HDX compatible. I can watch a downloaded episode in SD, but I can't even change my phone settings to download in HD anymore. Something happen that I missed?

I have this issue as well, it is very frustrating and makes this app nearly impossible to use. When I try to pause, or seek within a film my softkeys popup and block access to any interface buttons on the VUDU app. Please allow an option to place the interface buttons along the top or bump them up a bit.

As you can see in the attached image, the softkey buttons on my tablet appear on top of the VUDU user interface. The softkeys are intercepting any input to the VUDU buttons behind them even the pause button to the far left.

Unfortunately, we do not support Amazon devices. Sideloading our app on non-certified devices is done at your own risk.

Fair enough. I'll just use a service with a better interface.

Then how is it that other UV providers are NOT being required to use the same Lollipop-minimum DRM technology by THEIR contracts? In other words, WHY is this an issue ONLY with Vudu?

I think it's probably due to 1080p vs 720p, not that any one cares on a phone, but tablets you can tell the difference. Nook HD+ used to have selected movies in 1080p, now that the tablet is discontinued, it's all 720p on nook tablets/app. other UV providers are 720p with their hd streaming on tablet/phones

it's not just lollipop though, there are many devices with lollipop and not rooted, yet still can't get hdx/hd VUDU

I have asked for a million times for a list of hdx compatible phones/tablets, so I don't go out and spend $500 on an android lollipop phone or tablet to use vudu hdx on the go, just to find out that they are not being supported.
