I don't know what version of HDCP Vudu (err Studios) require. Perhaps FelipeF can chime it.

It's also worth checking your graphics card and monitor HDCP versions supported. There have been quite a few. If everything is newer then 2013 it should work in general.

    Actually...

HDX on Edge (not Explorer) works fine for me now. My version of Edge was out of date. Updating it made all the difference, but see further comments below.

Playing a movie starts in SD, but I can switch to and watch in HDX. UHD appears to not be supported in browsers???

One caveat though I have a multiple monitor set-up. If I try and play on an older monitor that doesn't have HDCP or has an older version I just get the "Playback Error" message. If I drag that same window over to a monitor with (modern) HDCP it plays fine in HDX (or SD).

Note everything in the chain needs to be HDCP compliant (browser, monitor, computer/graphics card, cables) and up to an establish (and recent) level. If any item is not HDCP or uses an older version it likely will not playback in HDX or at all.

Edge DOES stream HDX. I just tested this myself to confirm in case something had changed.

Is there any movement on being able to watch HDX in a browser FelipeF ? Everything I've tried plays in SD... and as jeremymc7 says, Edge doesn't even work at all (although I've heard it is only SD as well)

Is there any browser that streams HD?

Problem is that on Edge I can't playback anything. I just get a Vudu playback error message.

Due to a DRM issue affecting certain web browsers along at the request of the studios, Chrome and Firefox will only stream SD. Edge and Safari can still stream HDX. This is something that's being propagated with all digital providers.

started a topic Firefox restricted to SD playback?

    Firefox restricted to SD playback?

New message when purchasing "UHD/HDX playback is available on compatible devices. Web playback is available in HDX on Safari and Edge, and only SD on Chrome and Firefox." Playback on Firefox is definitely SD with no option to change.
Why was this change made, especially with no announcement?
Working...
