Vudu Forum Guidelines

The Vudu Forums are designed to help viewers get the most out of their Vudu experience. Here, Vudu customers may post information, questions, ideas, etc. on the subject of Vudu and Vudu -related issues (home theater, entertainment, etc). Although the primary purpose of these forums is to help Vudu customers with questions and/or problems with their VUDU service, there are also off-topic areas available within the Vudu Forums for users to chat with like-minded people, subject to the limitations below.

Please post all comments in English. When posting a comment in the Vudu Forums, please conduct yourself in a respectful and civil manner. While we respect that you may feel strongly about an issue, please leave room for discussion.

Vudu reserves the right to refrain from posting and/or to remove user comments, including comments that contain any of the following:

1. Obscenities, defamatory language, discriminatory language, or other language not suitable for a public forum
2. Email addresses, phone numbers, links to websites, physical addresses or other forms of contact information
3. "Spam" content, references to other products, advertisements, or other offers
4. Spiteful or inflammatory comments about other users or their comments

    Failed Downloads: Error (3328:898)

    I am trying to download movies on my iPhone (iOS 10.1, Vudu app version 4.9.9) and I keep receiving a "Download Failed: (3328:898)" error and sometimes some sort of other expired license error. I have read some of the other notes here about similar errors, but I have not maxed out the number of devices on the account I am having this issue with. Does it matter that my Vudu account is linked to another Vudu/Ultraviolet account?

    I am a longtime VUDU user..nearly 500 titles in my library ! Now getting this same error.. I hope someone knows what's up..

      We are aware of this issue and are working to get this resolved soon.


      Can we get some info from you folks with this issue to assist us in finding the root problem.

      ISP?
      Cell Provider?
      Router used on your Wifi network?
      Ddi you just update the iOS version on your device?
      iOS version?
      Vudu app version?

          Are you starting a download at a particular location and then trying to finish it at another? Meaning, switching between networks for your downloads?

          Have you tried uninstalling the Vudu app and reinstalling it?

            No, I'm trying to download the entire movie in 1 location, then trying to download in a 2nd location. Both fail. I've tried logging out & back in, deleting & uninstalling the app, I've tried a different iOS device, all keep failing. I had a friend try on their iPad on their home network and it failed for them too.

              I have the same problem today. Tried on two different networks (Sprint and wifi at work) then via a VPN. No luck on downloading any of my movies. All give the same error and don't finish.

              I was going to buy three movies for a 10 hour flight that I am going on tomorrow but will need to hold off now.

                I've been having the same problem for weeks! After trying to download on different WiFi networks and also on cellular data with the WiFi off nothing was working. I found this thread yesterday and tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app like someone suggested and that actually worked. I was able to download like 5 movies.

                But I had to end up getting a new phone last night and when I went to re-download some movies to the Vudu app on my new phone I ran into the same problem as before. I've tried uninstalling the app, reinstalling it, downloading with WiFi and downloading without. Nothing is working. I'm still getting the "Download Failed: 3328:898" error message.

                So frustrating! Thought I had finally found a solution. It's dumb that I've paid for these movies and can't watch them! Please come up with a fix soon! I have too much money invested in this app to be having this problem!

                  ISP: EPB of Chattanooga
                  Router: ASUS RT-N66R
                  iOS: 10.1.1
                  Vudu App: 5.0.0.0 (171417)

                  I was able to download 2 movies last night. This morning I updated iOS to 10.1.1. The Vudu app also updated to version 5. After both updates I tried to download 3 different movies and started getting the error. So the error seems to be in either the iOS update or the Vudu app. Since I updated both at the same time before trying a download I cannot be sure which.

                      Ant-Man, The Karate Kid (original), The Fellowship of the Ring extended.

                      I also tried Thor: The Dark World and get the same error.

                      This is also happening on my iPhone 6 which was also just updated to iOS 10.1.1 and Vudu app 5.0.0.0.

                        I am running to the same issue with Error (3328:898) when downloading movies.

                        In addition - the movies that were already downloaded I am unable to play as well. Which were downloaded at a separate date and time, and have previously had no issues with.

                        This is with my iPad Mini 2 - Forgive me I don't know all the answers to the following:

                        ISP? Frontier
                        Cell Provider? Verizon
                        Router used on your Wifi network? Frontier - standard equipment
                        Ddi you just update the iOS version on your device? The recent update - yes
                        iOS version? 10.1.1
                        Vudu app version? 5.0.0

                          I just installed 5.0.1 of the VUDU app that was just released today and now I am able to download my movies. Thanks for resolving so quickly.

                            I updated to the most current update release 5.0.1. Before and after my downloads continue to error out. Followed steps outlined in thread to no avail. iPad Air, always same ISP on wifi at home. I have not updated the software for Apple yet IOS 10.1.1 yet. I have one movie downloading and when it reaches 100% it errors out. When I close out and go back in it will keep trying to repair and giving same error. No real big identifiers here. Your help is appreciated.

                              Still getting same error code after update of iPad and vudu app. Please help

                              ISP = AT&T
                              Cell = AT&T
                              Linksys 1200 AC
                              Both versions current of IOS and app
