Windows Store App Completely Broken - Please Help

    Hi all.

After a lack of response from support, I'm hoping I can get a little help from the forums. I recently tried to download the Vudu app from the Windows store since it has historically been the only way for me to achieve smooth playback. All web methods stutter and skip.

When I download the app and run it, I am able to navigate my library. Everything seems to be working fine. However when I click play on a movie I see the boxart and the spinner animation, and the movie will start to play. Within 2 seconds the video freezes but the audio keeps playing for about 30 seconds. Then the app completely closes with no error message. This behavior is present on three different windows 10 machines that I have and one surface pro 4 device.

When I go into my windows application logs I see this entry at the time of each crash.

If there is anyone reading this who can help me solve this, I would greatly appreciate it.

    Thank you.

    Hello dpandkp,

Can you kindly provide the following information so we can get a better sense of what you're experiencing, thanks.

Not sure of the exact specs of the surface pro 4.

      Thanks for the help.

I have new Lenovo tablet with Win 10 Pro 64 bit and am having similar issues. I start the app - get the blue screen with Vudu on it and then nothing.

@FilepeF, any update? Still broken over here.

I'm getting the same blue logo screen and nothing else on my Windows 10 machine.

I love the Vudu service, but their support is awful and a bunch of their apps are totally broken right now.

Let me add that on my Microsoft Surface 3, this newer app plays horribly (stuttering video, buffering, etc.) and doesn?t even download well (or at all I should say. I had a movie supposedly downloading for over an hour with no visible progress made). And when I try to download on the older VuduToGo app...they download but I get an HDCP error 90% of the time.

              NOT good

I have the same issue Windows 10 I7 32Gb NVidia 1080ti. On loading a movie, video plays for about 2 seconds, then I get "Media Error Encountered". If while a movie is loading, you hit "ESC" then quickly change the Format to SD instead of HDX, it works normally and does not crash. So, seems to me like a problem with HDX.

I was using the VUDU to go app and it quit working after I updated. So I downloaded the VUDU app on the Windows store. everything downloaded fine but it won't play back my movies I downloaded. It shows the blue circle just spinning and won't go past that point. I have Windows 10 and its completely up to date. I even do the SD instead of HDX on the movies. I had this same issue and would prefer to use the VUDU app but this is getting old and in a hurry because I watch alot of movies.

Hello! I haven't tried to play any movies in the Vudu to go app on my Win 10 box, but I can scan a barcode on a disk with the mobile app on my iPhone & have it show as eligible. Then when I try to convert it in the Win 10 app it shows as not found. Not sure why the discrepancy. And yes, I did that as an experiment to see if it would work after I confirmed the title was available. I didn't find a thread on this, so here I am!
