Can't find the download list on Vudu app

    Hi,

I can't find the download list on Vudu app PC and for some strange reason, the app has turned into Microsoft Edge browser with www.vudu.com as the default site. Can anyone help me fix this?

Sorry, but I'm just going to reiterate the same issue.

It's strange because before I went on vacation, I downloaded about 10 movies to have available on plane and remote locations. Now that I'm on vacation, I can't figure out how to watch them. App seems to require Internet access.

The download option on the Windows 10 app has been disabled due to security concerns. We hope to be able to offer this option in the future once again. We do not have an ETA on when this will be re-enabled.

Losing the ability to download the movies that I have PURCHASED is a deal breaker for me. I will not but anything else on VUDU until this option is reactivated.
If I only wanted to stream movies, I can do that with Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+, etc for a monthly fee that is less than the cost of a typical movie on VUDU. Some of the streaming services even give me the option to download the content for offline viewing. I spend a lot of time on flights and being able to download the movies that I want to watch ahead of time was the thing that kept me purchasing movies on VUDU.
I guess from now on I will just have to find ones that are available on the other services and go with them.

I have asked VUDU to refund ALL my purchases because of this. I travel constantly and having downloadable content was the only anyone would ever use Vudu. They still allow you to download on some devices but nothing windows. I can't find anywhere that Vudu reserves the right retroactively to restrict access to purchased content. I would guess they are going to get some type of class action lawsuit from someone.

Agreed, what's the point in purchasing a movie on Vudu if you're not allowed to download the movie and watch it whenever you wish. I also use this service to download movies to watch while flying or in a remote location with no WiFi/cell phone coverage, and I can't understand the rationale for not allowing me to download something that I in fact paid for. I can understand rented movies, but why disallow movies that were actually purchased? I have almost 200 movies in my library purchased over time. If I can't watch these movies whenever I want to kill time or just because it's a good show, what's the point in buying anything, not to mention the money wasted so far. There must be a solution to this.

Also adding my two cents here. Reducing the core functionality of the Windows app was NOT acceptable. The main reason why I preferred to make Vudu purchases was because the Windows app allowed for offline viewing and the service was available on more devices than most of the competition. With this change, purchases through Microsoft are now more ideal for when I am traveling. They may now start to get my business.

I also was looking for the information how to download and view offline movies. I'm glad I found this post explaining that the feature is removed, so I can at least stop looking for it. I'm very frustrated that your "app" is now just a web browser, I would assume that's the problem with having to remove offline mode, because basically you'd just be letting people download an MP4 or something because you no longer have an app. Heck, does your app even work without the internet?

This was one of the best features for your service and it's a shame for it to go. Please have someone restore the original app for windows so we can at least use that again.

This is completely unacceptable. I paid for these movies. If I choose to download them there should be no issue at all. I used the downloads constantly when I travel and have no internet. We wont be buying anything else from Vudu now. Also, since you've prevented downloads, did your junk app free up the space that was being used for downloaded movies? My guess is no considering how bad the app was to begin with.....

From what I've seen myself on several forums and websites, some folks on this forum were exploiting a bug that allowed downloads to be decrypted and shared online. The studios found out and put an end to this feature it seems.

This is absurd and ridiculous, I specifically used VUDU so I could watch movies irregardless of my access internet by being able to download for offline viewing...seeing as my ISP is apparently equally as questionable and irregular as this situation has become. As far as I am concerned, its on VUDU to figure out how to appease the studios and fix this bull**** excuse. If they want to play it that way, why can you still download for offline on an android device? FIX THIS ALREADY.

Additionally, since the studios, vudu and microsoft made this little delightful deal, can I assume you deleted the pre-existing downloads off my computer when you hijacked this into the terrible program known as Edge? If not, please advise how the F I am supposed to remove the probably 12 movies I already downloaded on my computer; all downloaded in HDX quality so I am sure its a few gigs but since I am not a hacker, I don't know where you would bury these files in my hard drive.

Can anyone share with me what service they recommend to move to since VUDU isn't allowing downloading the movies I own to watch on a plane or in the car for my kids? We have 150 movies we purchased over the years on VUDU... crazy. So - what works on Windows 10/11 and allows for download after purchase? I want to at least stop the bleed with VUDU. Thanks for the insight. Lastly - From what I see on how VUDU advertises their service, it says you CAN download the movies to watch later... just google it. I think they should update it if it is not the case.

Amazon Prime Video app on Win 10 can still download movies. They also support WMR and Quest for large screen viewing. They also support Movies Anywhere. They also did not change to Edge PWA app to save some dev costs. I guess they didn't get the memo about what Vudu is claiming the reason for it being gone. Or perhaps they put the effort into making it work while addressing the studios concerns. I really have very few reasons to buy from Vudu anymore since they decided to basically abandon being a quality provider after the FN merger. I have bought well over a 1000 movies and shows on Vudu over the years, they keep this up and they will start to see the bottom line evaporate very quickly.
