change the location of vudu downloads

how do i change where movies are downloaded. I am tired of redoing my library every other day with all the problems with vudu and the app and would like to move my movie collection off my local hard drive to a portable. how do I do this?

Re: change the location of vudu downloads

It would sure be nice to have a choice. Unfortunately we don't, unless there is some workaround that someone knows.

I ran into this issue myself. I bought a Surface with a paltry SSD because I knew it has expandable storage using a MicroSD card. What I didn't count on was Vudu disabling the ability to move the Windows 10 app to said card (error code 0x80073d01 in case anyone is wondering). I'll wait (im)patiently for either a workaround or an official feature addition.

        Any update on this?

Vudu is certainly loosing my loyalties...I'm been needed this capability for over 4 years now.
What good does extra storage do in a mobile device do if they've crippled their app from allowing us to redirect their DOWNLOADS folder to an alternate location?

I just spent a few hours again trying to manipulate their folder structures using the mklink command but couldn't get it to work right...It's like they've gone out of their way to NOT allow us to do this which is even more infuriating!

This issue mixed with their decision to remove FamilyPlay has been a contributing factor to me giving up on them. I've simply stopped buying movies on their platform...It's now been over a full month since I've purchased my last movie on Vudu. I was one of their high-volume users too! I was spending gobs of $$$ with them. My Vudu library has over 3,500 movies so I'm truly sad to see them dying this slow death...I just wish they would come out and explain why they removed FamilyPlay or why they won't allow us to change their DOWNLOADS folder because I hate not understanding their business decisions. I suspect FandangoNow has something to do with them removing FamilyPlay. .This stupid silence and lack of any real explanation from the company is driving me nutz so I just finally decided to give up on them.

Yes! 100%! This App should give us the ability to Download to a location we chose!

As it is, it clogs up your hard drive.

I am glad I am not the only one. The older version I have on an older tablet let me save to a scan disk. Don't want to fill up hard drive.

Yes! I have been trying to figure out how to change the default download location myself. I use the VUDU app on PC Windows 10. I can't even find the location it is curerently using. The app jsut says to open the "TEMP" folder buiit there is nothing in that.

Also, I am trying to figure out how to get a screencap of a movie and/or tv show I bought. Everytime I try, I just get a black screen.....
