    Question about new update??

Did they not add additional storage to this new update or am I missing something?? I don't see anywhere in the system settings that cover this, and until this issue is resolved, they can be sure I won't be purchasing any new movies until they do. I'm already close to the 50 movie max as it is, and that doesnt included the 15+ tv shows they already deleted because I ran out of space.

Also, is there any plans to allow people to BUY HD movies vs rent?? While I'm happy to see more HD content, I would of liked the ability to purchase as well.

Did they not add the ability to delete movies yet?? Sighhh... I can't believe it would of been that hard to add that ability to the new update. Again am I missing something??

Unfortunately, additional storage was not implemented in 1.2. I believe it will be packaged with 1.3.

Does 1.3 also have forced 1080P24?

That I'm not too sure of. We're getting a bit ahead of ourselves since 1.2 was just released.

We'll have more news about 1.3 in the next couple of weeks.

Any ideas when that will happen??

Honestly John, I'm kind of disappointed you guys would drop the ball on that. This has been a major thorn in my side, not to mention my wishlist of movies I want to purchase as already grown close to 50 already, while I wait for this issue to be resolved. Well anywayz, thanks for the new HD rentals, but I'm not really your target rental market.

It's definitely high on the priority list, but HD was our main focus for 1.2. Hang tight though. You'll see it soon.

You can delete movies by calling customer service now.
1.3 will have an advanced setting that allows you to ignore the supported HDMI modes. This will allow you to enforce any output mode including 1080p24.

                    Rstone,

There was a lot that went into this build of software. There was a lot of testing as the networking requirements for streaming HD are tremendously different from SD content. Would you rather have waited another month or two for the HD streaming and gotten storage thrown in at the same time? I don't think so. There's only so much we can do at once. Keep in mind the beta team had to debug this and test this multiple times. There was a lot of work that was done.

External storage will be a big job in and of itself.

So is there anyway to know when your drive is close to full? Or it just tells you when it can't store anymore. And it sounds like there currently is a 50 title limit? Is that true?
I don't have to worry about it yet but I can see how these TV shows could easily get you over 50 titles in a short period of time. I already have eight of them.

                        Re: Question about new update??

50 is the approximate amount. TV shows being less time than movies will take up less space per show.

No, there is no disk space meter. It's in the request queue though!

                          Re: Question about new update??

Software is really easy conceptually, but unfortunately more complicated in reality.

I know, been there, done that. But it's that challenge that gets the juices going for lots of really hard working people.

                            Re: Question about new update??

Just rented Star Trek 6 in HD.
Audio is in stereo. No Dolby 5.1.
I thought all the HD rentals were going to be in 5.1.
Apple is advertising all there HD rentals will be in 5.1 Digital sound.
                            Why not Vudu?
I find the sound is more important than the picture quality. The difference between 720p and 1080p is hardly noticeable unless you are right on top of the picture.
I would much rather have the high end audio formats than 1080p.
I find the sound envelopes you into the picture much more than a slightly sharper picture.
I hope Vudu corrects this soon.
