HAS ANYONE ELSE LOST ACCESS TO ALMOST ALL COPYWRITABLE CONTENT?

    Re: YOUTUBE

This weekend I first encountered a similar issue where a number of videos I selected in Vudu Labs "You Tube" would not play; however I am not certan if it is a copywrite issue as the op stated. Here is an example, search for "tacoma news reel" and pick the 2:34 video of the Tacoma Narrows bridge disaster. This video plays on other platforms, but not through Vudu Labs "You Tube".

I am not sure what to make of this, but thought it worth adding my experience to the thread.

      Re: YOUTUBE

I had intermittent issues from last Friday through the weekend where most if/not all Youtube videos gave me an error across the viewport "This video is not playable"

      Seems ok now though.

It would be nice to have a status page somewhere for vudu and vudulabs.

btw - The HD trailers on Youtube are better than the trailers embedded on Vudu. Could we get HD trailers on Vudu?

The trailers are delivered by the content providers and are licensed. VUDU doesn't have much control in this area. If the content provider gives a high quality trailer VUDU will display a high quality trailer. If it's a low quality trailer...well it's low quality on the VUDU...

Sure Vudu can't control what gets delivered but they could, maybe... ask for the HD version?

            Re: YOUTUBE

I have been a long time user of XBMC, and have been watching HD trailers (downscaled) for years now. They look better than most of the trailers I see in Vudu (excluding HD Youtube). When watching live tv, I often watch Vudu trailers or Youtube during the commercials. Vudu has the nice UI and the trailers (when available) are easy to find. I bought the Vudu because of the excellent picture quality and growing list of features. If Vudu could work this out with the content owners so that the trailers were HD whenever possible, it would greatly add to my entertainment value.
I don't know why the owners would refuse, HD trailers have been online for years.

            Many Thanks,

            Hexnut
