This is the wired result on the PC

Using Fios and their wireless modem on top of my PC from another room to the living room at the LG player down a hall.

I still get one bar and reloading sometimes on this connection with the BD390
I stopped using the Lynksys N modem (with the Player) recomended by LG, the Verzion Fios modem seems to perform better in HDX. (at least yesterday)

I get smoking fast speed on the Lynksys N modem on my Iphone!?! 10 Mbps versus 6 Mbbps on the Fios modem.

    Confused but happy

The FIOS modem is only wireless G and is not very good. You should be using wireless N for the VUDU streaming and of course wired would be the best option.

    I use a Dlink DGL4500 router.
I noticed when I tried out the streaming that the stream stopped a couple of times over a few hours. Well not stopped but dropped low enough where it caused a problem with HDX. The next day I tried the same thing but had more drops in a shorter period. so I changed my firewall settings in my router which help with this tremendously.

I really like the streaming from this player. I wish I could trade two of my VUDU boxes for a Streaming VUDU player then I would just keep one original VUDU box for travel.

Linksys WRT54GL (Linux) router with Tomato firmware (need to
condition line for that $30/mo 2 line VOIP system, uplink speed horrible).

Suddenlink 6MB/190KB connections, that is if i am lucky.

So far so good, i absolutely love the rock solid WRT54GL which Tomato
turns into a mean machine, so much so that i have one near every TV in
      the house, HTPCs too.

So the BD390 does instant HDX streaming and passed DD+ for external processing? Not too shabby, DTSHD-MA being the ultimate uncompressed format out there, that is after DSD/SACD of course

        Re: Vudu on LG BD390

I'm having issues with streaming on my BD390, but not only with the Vudu HDX trailers, but now with my Netflix (which had no problems before the "Vudu" firmware update).

I only get one bar and constant reloads at the HDX quality. And now, my Netflix Watch Instantly is hapmpered to the point where I now get an message saying "My Internet connection is too slow".

Very irritating considering that the Netflix streaming before the firmware update was nearly flawless.

My BD390 is in the same spot as it has been for months, along with my wireless router (Apple Extreme). I have made no changes to settings or locations on either of those devices. The only variable is the new Firmware update.

Any ideas on what might be going on? Any one know if there's a way I can get the old firmware (pre-Vudu) from LG?

The VUDU on the LG is only a client that runs when you select VUDU from the menu. Netflix is just another client also. If the firmware update made changes to the BD390 that prevents it from working with the Apple Extream I suggest that you contact LG.

One test you may want to try if you can directly connect via a wired connection vs. wireless and see if the problem goes away.

Well...I tried two tests: Running wired from the router (Airport Express) and one straight from the cable modem itself.

After several reboots and device restarts, I'm pretty sure the problem lies either in my cable modem, or somewhere in my line from the house, outward. I still had the same issues one bar connectivity in Vudu, and while Netflix never gave me the "Connection too slow" error, I was still unable to stream any of their "HD" material.

Once I get ahold of the cable company and hopefully swap out some hardware, I'll try to come back and let everyone know if the problem is corrected.

Other people are having problems with their Netflix connection since the last update. Although personally I'm having zero problems with Netflix streaming and zero problems with the VUDU streaming on my LG BD390.

I know what made a difference in my setup was manually entering the DNS servers in the BD390 setup menu. I entered the DNS servers that Verzion uses, that are listed in my router. Instead of having my gateway address.

Yeah...I just saw your posts on the AVS Forum thread....great...this makes me reconsider the issue.

I'm still going to have the cable company come out though...I know my cable modem is pretty old and I have noticed my bandwith fluxuating between the almost 12Mbps all the way down to 3 or 4.

VUDU generally have much larger files to stream than other services, especially HDX, which is sensitive to network fluctuations. Can you try with the HDX previews with only the VUDU connected to the network? This means you will have to unplug/disconnect all other devices. Do you still experience reloads?

If so, when did it occur (hours/minutes/seconds/ date)?

What is your system ID? You can find that under MY VUDU > INFO&SETTINGS > SYSTEM INFO.
Are there any issues with the DLINK DIR-615 wireless-n router? I was having similar problems to the one described above, and only getting one bar in VUDU constantly.
