BTW, this might not be such a good design decision for people who have auto-sensing switches/TVs/AV receivers. Just something to consider.

And I'm not sure I follow your statement about an embedded device... I am using a standalone Vudu box.

Anyone else have problems with the box rebooting when watching video?

Yes, I believe everyone is having the same issues...

For a beta trial I'm surprised there isn't more chatter on issues. Also not quite sure of the beta testers involvement. I've submitted a response to the link they sent when the box first downloaded Brazil and wasn't impressed by the form they presented. Don't get me wrong I love Vudu and sure Brazil will be excellent after more tweaking.

Does anyone know how large of a group that's using Brazil? Is there a different forum for beta test reports? Regular frequency of updates from Vudu support would be nice. Is there a list of issues that testers have come across?

I've beta tested software from a couple large corporations in the past and I'm used to much more involvement from both sides. Just my 2 cent.

I think he meant that this was designed for something like the LG TVs, where the Vudu software is part of another device, so they didn't put in power on/off commands (since that's something you'd normally reserve for the manufacturer's remote, plus if you ported this to different makes/models, you'd have to code in a different command for every device).

I guess i got that, but in my case I have a standalone box. So are they not making a version specific to the standalones? This ends up impacting those customers in the ways I mentioned in my previous post.

Yep - I'm seeing this too. I had to switch back to Amadeus in order to get uninterrupted movie playback.

The laggy interface and constant pause and/or reboots make Brazil painful to use.

I haven't noticed any rebooting on the two boxes I have with Brazil. Hopefully my third box will have it this evening. I'll try it out if it does.

I haven't watched too much with those VUDU boxes, but I have watched the trailers with zero issues, used the menu navigation with zero issues and watched most of two or three movies with no issues.

That's the same hardware I'm having pretty significant issues with.

I did some more testing last night with both my boxes that have Brazil. I had zero problems. the movies played through with no issues, and menu navigation was fine.

I did notice that if I hit the VUDU button on the remote that it seemed to reset something, because the debugging display that shows the HDX bars disappeared after hitting the VUDU button andn I had to put that setting back on. As long as I don't hit the VUDU button, the menu doesn't reset.

Is it the VUDU button that is possibly causing problems when you hit it?
