    Re: Public Beta

I'm still having issues with stuttering/pausing of HDX even on the short trailers.

I guess it could be my comcast but every extended speed test I run comes out at >=16mpbs with ANY hesitation during the downloads.

      Re: Public Beta

Well, I may have found the reason for my streaming issues. On a whim I decided to hook my Vudu box directly up to the router instead of through the 8 port switch I normally use. So far I played about 8 HDX trailers with zero hangs.

I will try watching the movie I have rented in Brazil and see how it goes.

Not sure why the switch would be hanging things up but now that I think about it i see sporadic disconnects/slowdowns on the PS network while playing games. I am going to move the PS3 directly over to the router as well and see if this helps.

Switches do go bad....it took me two months to figure that out when I was having problems with streaming media in my house. Also it only takes one malfunctioning network card to to impact the entire switch as I leanred with a defective ASUS motherboard....

Interesting. I think I may have my Vudu running through a switch on the back of one of my Sonos players that is hardwired to my router. Maybe I can try connecting it directly to the router to see if it fixes the problem.

          Thanks for the heads-up.

            Brian,

Did you have any luck trying to stream an HDX movie since you disconnected from the switch?

This is actually as intended. To power off your VUDU set-top box you will need to go back to Amadeus and then power it off.

Just the trailers, haven't had time for a full length movie yet.

                  Re: Public Beta

I've been working with AdamS but to update here, my next full length movie in HDX went slightly better but similar to the first (after the router switch and some other tweaks from Adam)

Still had about 7 stalls, 3 warnings about issues streaming in HDX, 1 message saying the movie couldn't stream right now due to network issues, and 1 spontaneous reboot.

I'll unfortunately be switching back to Amadeus for all primary viewing.

thanks to Jimmy H. for working with me to correct issue of my ability to post on forum......Anyway, I am currently having an issue with Brazil streaming.....buffering errors, inconsistent performance, primarily with HDX movies. I have done all the tweaks requested, inconsistency remains......The VUDU box has a static IP address, QoS tweaks applied, hard wire connection, I sent the results of a deeper network test back to VUDU.....I'm dumbfounded here.......I have a FIOS 20/5 connection........

                    thanks,

                    Don

Have you tried changing your DNS?

                      Primary: 4.2.2.2
                      Secondary: 4.2.2.1

Also, what is the System ID of your VUDU? You can locate this under the "Info & Settings > System Info" page.

                        AdamS,

I am currently being helped on this issue, but it seems so frustrating....I've made many changes to my configurations, still get inconsistent performance in Brazil.....Jimmy H. has been helping a lot.....I see some posts on forum where members have no QoS settings applied and they seem to stream fine......I also see various settings in Debug Info, just wondering what those mean.....

PS. If Jimmy H. monitors the forum, I have sent back the transfer rate you requested....Also I got 7 buffering errors total.....Strange, When I played previews of Harry Potter(latest movie), buffering occurred, played preview of Transformers, buffering occurred......played preview of UP, played thru......played Terminator Salvation, it played thru...

                        Don

Just upgraded to Brazil. The streaming for the hdx previews is running smothly. It is working great except I lost 2 rentals that I have yet to watch. Is there a way to get them back?

My understanding is that any rentals/purchases processed in Brazil are only accessible in Brazil while those transactions processed in Amadeus can only be accessed in Amadeus. You can switch back to Amadeus at any time (and back to Brazil) but you have to let the box restart in between switches.

This is true. Any rentals/purchases made in Brazil can only be watched in Brazil and vice versa. You can switch between the two by going to the "Info & Settings" page. You should see the option to "Enter Brazil" or "Back to Amadeus".
