    HELP!

    Good Morning All...

I recently purchased an LG BD390 blu-ray player for no other reason, other than it had the VUDU software capability. After bragging about what I think the future of in-home entertainment to my wife for a week or so, we attempted to watch our first movie last night. The movie kept stalling at HDX quality, so we backed it down to HD with no different results. I'm using a Linksys N router which is installed in my basement (one level down from the living room where the LG is). I have my TiVo HDXL (in the same cabinet as the LG) and my laptop (in the same room) and both function with no issues, wirelessly. I would be most appreciative if someone could offer me any advice on what I might need to do to make this work. Is there a test I can run from my laptop to determine if I have sufficient speed on my network? Does VUDU have a support number I can call? Thanks in advance for any and all feedback offered.

    John

Thanks Adam. I'll get those test results off to you the second I have them.

        Re: HELP!

I too had issues recently (using Brazil Beta on my Vudu Box). I was streaming "Four Christmases" last night and it stalled several times throughout the movie and the box even rebooted itself once. The last HDX movie I streamed was "Taking of Pelham 123" and it streamed without a hitch.

          Re: HELP!

I'm having the same problem. I talked to support and have a theory. I'll let you know how it goes. The two things I haven't tried is turning off WPA protection and/or checking the compatibility of my router. I'm currently using a D link and have download speeds of 6-8 Mbps per speakeasy testing. I have also tried wired and wireless.

            Re: HELP!

I've dealt with a few customers having this issue. Two things seemed to help a lot.

            1. Use a public DNS: 4.2.2.2 and 4.2.2.1. Google also offers a public DNS (they say it's experimental) 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

            2. If your router allows it, set QoS for the device in question. Generally you can set it by IP address, MAC address and even by the Port that the unit is connected to (if wired or using VUDU wireless kit).

            I hope that helps.
