    HDX Streaming Issues w/ FIOS

I got the BD390 for Xmas, never even heard of VUDU until it did a software update and there it popped up.
So I have a fast wifi network, FIOS with 15 up and 25 down, the main verizon router is connected to my Apple Time Capsule and that is sending out a pure 802.11N @ 2.4 GHZ to the BD390. For some reason, the BD390 only gets 3 bars of wifi from my Apple even though its only in the next room. I've tested the connection in the bedroom where the BD390 is on my laptop and checked the dl speeds and they are up to par. So I've only rented 2 HDX titles and both times the movie stopped at least twice in the middle and went to a loading screen or broke up a few times. I even went out and bought a Apple Airport Express and it did give me a better signal to the BD390 but lowered the dl speed, so I took it back.
I've contacted VUDU tech a few times and they have said it has to do with verizon. VUDU had me run a speed test on there site and it did come up with 15/25, but then gave me this link:
ftp://ftp1.optonline.com/test1024 to test my dl speed, and I only got like 2-3 mb speeds. So I was told that FIOS was not really giving me a full 25 mb dl speed. I called V and reset everything and ran the test again and the results were the same. now I get another email from VUDU saying I need to change my DNS settings, which I did, yup, same results on speed tests.
Last night I opened up VUDU on the BD390 and it took over 2 minutes to load the VUDU home screen.
I've messed around on the BD390 and Netflix streaming and it seems to be fine as well as streaming My Media from my iMac and it works, so I can only point to VUDU for these issues, but they keep saying its my settings.
I'm sure I'm not the first one with these issues and the BD390, any help would be nice.
    Thanks

Re: HDX Streaming Issues w/ FIOS

I had Verizon Broadband and had issues. I switched to Comcast High Speed and had issues also. My player even stopped working all together (wouldn't power on at all after 4 days). Despite the great ratings my experiences with the 390 make me think is a piece of junk. I re bought the Samsung BD-P3600 which some people had playing disc issues and I have had not one issue (new firmware upgrade fixes that issue). Netflix streams beautiful as well as Pandora which the 390 does not have. I also read that VUDU uses alot of your bandwith (not sure if thats the issue) but call me crazy.....the Samsung works fantastic!!! BD390 not getting a good signal with FIOS, the supposidly faster than any cable internet?? I doubt highly the problem is FIOS....may be VUDU or the player itself.....I would contact LG also.

      bothfly,

There have been some reports on AVS Forum about the BD390's wireless performance. I agree that contacting LG would be the first place to go. You may want to run a cable just to rule out a defective BD390. Here is a link to the AVS Forum thread on the BD390:
