Some questions about Brazil's future direction

Hello, I am a happy STB owner and move between the Amadeus and Brazil interfaces without issue. My questions are related to the Brazil interface and if certain features are going to be migrated to it, and I am looking for an 'official answer'. [I'm sorry if this has been answered in some other thread -- I didn't find any when I looked]

First question: Will Brazil be able to download movies instead of just streaming them?
I understand the need for the streaming model, but as a STB owner I really liked the ability to download a movie for later viewing. This way, it didn't matter if my internet connection dropped. It also provided me a safety net on my purchase if I ever decided with downgrade my internet connection (doubtful, but it made me feel better ).

Second question: Will Brazil be able 'extend rental' for 99 cents at some point?
This is an extremely handy feature and really set Vudu apart.

Third question: Will there be a credit transfer or an actual transfer of movies/tv shows purchased under Amadeus to Brazil?
I have purchased a couple of kids movies under Amadeus and have to keep switching interfaces every time the kids want to see them.

Thank you for your time. I spend almost almost all my time in Brazil and these three missing features would probably allow me to cut the ties to Amadeus (once the random reboot issue is fixed).

Re: Some questions about Brazil's future direction

I am not a staff member but I can answer the first question, as I have downloaded movies on Brazil...If you purchase a movie in Brazil, it will give you the option to "Watch HDX" or whatever format you purchased, or "HDX for Download".....If I am correct it gives you choices of bandwith that can be used to download....I always use "none" and it downloads at the full speed of my internet connection, I don't think you can watch the movie as it downloads though, so I just turn my projector off....you can stream it, or you can download it to your box....I think under My VUDU there is a tab that says "Manage Downloads"....It has a nice graphic of your hard drive and the amount of space left to store movies.....Or you can leave your purchase "in the cloud". where you can stream it at any time.....Hope this helps, and if any of the VUDU staff can comment, I appreciate it....

Sorry for the delayed response to your post, nevertheless, here are the answers to your questions:

      1. Canadien37 is correct, with VUDU set-top boxes you are able to manage your downloads in Brazil so that the film will download to the hard-drive to view at a later date.

      2. Currently, the extended rental option is not available in Brazil due to licensing restrictions from each of the studios. This is something we are working on to implement into the Brazil service, however, I do not have an ETA as to if or when this will happen.

      3. This is also a license restriction on the content that you have already purchased in Amadeus. We are working with the studios to get content purchased in Amadeus (and vice versa) to playback in Brazil at no additional cost as long as the devices are under the same account.

I hope this answers your questions. Please let me know if you have any more.

Re: Some questions about Brazil's future direction

Thank you Adam for your post......I was particularly interested in point #3.....as I have movies stored in Amadeus and Brazil....It would be great to be able to take movies in Amadeus, access them in Brazil, and be able to stream them, freeing up hard drive space.....The choice of being able to either download a film or leave it on VUDU servers to stream promotes a lot of flexibility....I hope this happens....
