VUDU on Samsung BD-C5500 vs LG BD 390

I had the LG BD 390 and recently replaced it with the BD-C5500. The LG BD 390 had a nice icon/option to view trailers on VUDU. Trailers could be viewed in HDX (1080p). I've gone through the VUDU menu on the BD-C5500 and can only seem to be able to watch trailers in SD 480p. Has anyone had any luck viewing trailers on the BD-C5500, via VUDU, at 1080p?

The only trailers on VUDU that play in HDX are the "Coming Soon" trailers, movies that are currently playing in theaters. All other trailers will play in 480p SD, this is true for all products with VUDU enabled.

Is anyone having network issues with their C-5500? I have a Trendnet TEWW-652 and the network is sporadic at best (hard wired). Once I get it to work, as soon as I power off the DVD player and then turn it back on, I lose the network and have to redo all the settings.

I have tried manual settings and it is doing the same thing. Anyone have any ideas? Samsung was no help.

Dawgman -- Are you only have issues with VUDU on your network or are you also having issues with Youtube, Pandora, Netflix etc.?

Re: VUDU on Samsung BD-C5500 vs LG BD 390

[I am having connection issues as well. i just picked up the C5500 Player and saw the Vudu app it had a Try HD Free button and a Explore Vudu button (I think). I backed out to check out the other apps and set up my netflix account. When I go into the Vudu app now it say "failed to connect to the network" Details Curl timeout More info Hardware ID ...... and Device ID 0xbde18.
Netflix and BB seem to be working fine but Vudu is not seeing my network. I hope there is a fix as Vudu was the main selling point for me.

              Its working now.

BTW I realy like the interface much more responsive than brazil on my boxes. Now if I could only view everything I have ever purchased on my devices on my new Samsung that would be extra sweet! (just sayin')

keep up the good work guys.

Sorry, I missed the notification on the response. I cannot get this thing to network properly for any app. I have gone with automatic settings and it won't recognize the Gateway IP. I set it up manually, and it works sporadically at best. The only way I get it to work is to unplug it and plug it back in a few times and it will finally recognize the network.

I have gone up to Tier 2 support with Samsung, they say it is my ISP or router. I have called both of them and they won't take any responsibilty, which I don't blame. I have 3 computers wired into my router, 2 iPod Touches, a few laptops, Xbox360 hard wired all without any issues. I just got my son a new Xbox360 and it connected to Xbox live immediately.

For some reason, the Samsung just won't play with my router. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
