Brazil, Amadeus and a lost movie night

Love the Vudu box when it works, but then there's a night like this one.

Got Brazil a while back, but the UI is so unresponsive it is frustrating. In Brazil, I noticed a new film I wanted to watch. Decided to go back to Amadeus, probably permanently. Amadeus said it needed to update the software, then came back withoutany new movies. "Updating Movie List ..." has gone on for a long time now, an still nosigh of the movie I sat down to watch two hours ago. Also, option to return to Brazil is gone.

You've taken a great, simple product backwards in recent months. Far fewer previews, far too complex with dueling OS choices and reboots. A device in the media rack needs to work, and yours used to be a thing of beauty. After a lost night of fiddling and waiting, I'm ready to move on.

I totally agree about the lack of previews for the STB. I don't really care to use a beta Brazil, designed for streaming embedded players, on my STB. Other than an issue Vudu had fielding a new version of the database about a month ago though, I can't say I've ever run across the issues you did.

I would just be happy if they put a little effort into the native STB environment and brought some new features on line such as rotten tomatoes and the hd previews.

Sorry to hear about the troubles. I'm pretty happy with the beta Brazil, keeping in mind what it is (unfinished software). I have the STB as well, but my internet connection may be faster and thats why its better? What are your speeds? We have the Verizon FIOS and get 7-11 MB/s (depending on time of day) from speedtest.net

dhouston -- I'm sorry to hear about the recent issues you've been having in Brazil. From your description, it sounds like you're stuck in a upgrade loop. If you can give me the device ID (0x____) of your VUDU I should be able to resolve this for you. Youcan locate the device ID in the info & settings section.
