Third-Party Applications & Lack of Features

    Hi everyone,

This past summer, I bought a Vudu XL box (remember those?) for my main television. Since then, I have enjoyed the service and have turned several friends onto Vudu.

Several weeks ago, I decided to upgrade to a Blu-Ray DVD player (I know, I was late to the party), and I went with a Samsung model that had Vudu functionality built in. I then hooked the XL box up to the t.v. in my bedroom. The Samsung player was easy to set up and to link to my account, but I have to admit that I'm less than thrilled with the module that Samsung uses to connect me to the Vudu service and the way in which Vudu links (or doesn't link) my account between the XL and the Samsung.

The biggest issue, it seems to me, is that the Samsung doesn't allow me to add an item to my Wish List or to view the existing Wish List that's associated with my Vudu account. I had assumed that the Wish List items were stored remotely, not on the XL's hard drive. If this is true, how difficult would it be for the same Wish List to be available across multiple Vudu-enabled devices?

Right now, the answer seems to be "very difficult." Does anyone at Vudu support have any idea if or when this could change?

Re: Third-Party Applications & Lack of Features

Here is the reponse to the same question of whishlists and samsung from another thread:

Re: Third-Party Applications & Lack of Features

I'll also add that for the download boxes (e.g. XL and BX-100), the wishlists are specific to the individual boxes. With the LG streaming devices, the wishlist is shared across all of those streaming devices on the account.
