    New to Vudu (Review)

I'm new to Vudu, but I'm a veteran of digital downloads and streaming. I have Netflix streaming, Amazon VOD through TiVo and Blockbuster on demand through TiVo. I usually download all my HD movies through Amazon, but I decided to try Vudu due to some recent Amazon VOD/TiVo issues.

I have an LG Infinia (55LE8500) with an AN-WF100 wireless adapter. I have watched two movies in HDX 1080/24p and I must say the picture and sound quality are great. Although Amazon downloads at 1080p, they do not offer the picture quality of 1080/24p. There is an instant noticeable difference. I have not seen any hiccups through my wireless connection either. This is hands down the best streaming option out quality wise.

I do wish the HDX movies were the same price as the HD movies. $5.99 is kind of high for a rental, but I'm partial to the best quality so I'll stick with the HDX. I think I will stick to Vudu movies unless Amazon comes up with a comparable HD streaming option. Hopefully the HDX prices will come down. I also wish Vudu did not charge accounts once you hit a zero balance. A simple charge per movie would be better (no more/no less).

I just got an email from Vudu saying they have changed this to charging per movie and not maintaining a balance in the account.

Yes Im new to vudu since January and the 1 thing that has kept me away was the $20 increments, so in March i sent an email concerning this and now that it's a pay as you go, I'll be using this service over Amazon. Smart Move by Walmart.
