    A Question

I monitor this forum quite a bit and see various issues with streaming, set top box or embedded.....I was checking another forum and some members there tried moving their VUDU box to the DMZ outside of their network and it seemed to improve the situation...

I've never seen that mentioned as a solution here, but I have a question as I am very wary about exposing any of my network devices directly to the internet...Is there a danger from hackers accessing the box if it is exposed directly to the 'net? This may apply to embedded devices too, since they also are connected to a network......

Thanks in advance to anyone that can respond.....

    Just curious...

    Re: A Question

    Canadien,

Placing devices in DMZ has helped alleviate buffering in some cases that I have dealt with. If you need help doing this, please contact support and we?ll be happy to do so. I have yet to hear any customer complain of their device being hacked. However, any device that you place outside your routers firewall is at your own risk.

Thanks for that response, Dan.....I continue to believe the issue is the beta status of the VUDU software, and the bugs that have yet to be squashed.....Just FYI, the person that did try it, still had issues with the buffering, etc.....
