    Disney and Wal-mart

    I am digging the new deal between Disney and Walmart to include a voucher for a download copy of the movie on Vudu.

      Re: Disney and Wal-mart - confusing message to the market

      This model of "disk+" as some others call it - confuses me.

      1) Do I get to "own" the HDX on Vudu as well as own the Blu-ray disk I purchased?
      or
      2) Do I simply get to "view" the HDX on Vudu once and keep a Blu-ray around?

      If OPTION #1: What type of message is being sent if I purchase Toy Story 3 at my local Wal-Mart -- purchase the Blu-ray... use the voucher to get it on Vudu? If I get Vudu ownership of the HDX version, then what stops me from selling the Blu-ray to someone else and recouping the price while still maintaining ownership of the Vudu HDX version?

      If OPTION #2: I sell my Blu-ray without opening the shrinkwrap... or return it? Or even if I do open the shrinkwrap and then sell a "used" Blu-ray.... This means a "free viewing" on Vudu, or at least a cheaper view (likely the price on Vudu minus my resale of it, is still a deal).

      ===========
      where is the sense of this or am I missing some other complication?

        Re: Disney and Wal-mart

        These are good questions, maybe one can only download an SD version of the film, similar to a physical digital copy you get with some discs....

          Re: Disney and Wal-mart

          Does this also apply to Touchstone/Pixar/Marvel (also owned by Walt Disney Motion Picture Group), or just Walt Disney Pictures (the movies we typically think of as "Disney" movies)?
