    The Heartbreak Kid

It's kinda of late so it might be my imagination. But something funky seems to be up with the data discovery engine.

We just finished watching "Blade Runner" (a great movie), and I was just goofing around and found The Heartbreak Kid.

I added it to my wish list but when I went back to the regular data discovery stuff I couldn't find it again, without looking really hard for it.

It's listed as an HD title, but when I went there, I couldn't find it.

It's a 2007 movie and so I went to new releases and couldn't find it there either.

It showed up once in featured movies. But I went back to that and it was gone.

So maybe I'm just dreaming, but it really seems weird. Just a possible heads up.

BTW It really is in my Wish List.

    Regards

I'm looking at the movie posters for it right now. Do a search by title.

Also, post your database version. I believe it should be 1485. That database was released over the weekend so I don't think the movie was pulled from the box.

This might belong in its own thread, but do movies get pulled from the box? I only ask because I noticed that the movie Bad Taste has seemed to disappear. Just looking to understand how the movies get added/removed.

      Thanks.

Yes movies can be "pulled". Its called rotation and its been discussed in many conversations here.

Since the content owners may also be heavily invested in other delivery channels, say cable TV, HBO, Showtime, etc. When a movie hits that channel the movie can be pulled from VOD delivery until it completes it rotation on cable.

I looked real quick and I do have 1485.

I did a search and it found an SD and HD version of the movie.

But still can't find it in the HD titles category.

I was just browsing last night when I stumbled across the movie in the "featured movies" list (but subsequently couldn't find it in "featured movies" again when I went back to it).

I would have never found it by doing a title search, because I don't look for movies that way.

So I guess what I'm saying is that even though it's in the database, it doesn't seem to appear in places where it should in the browsing part of data discovery.

          Regards

We'll look into that. Could be an error in something in the latest database.

              Thanks.

Don't want to start a new thread for this, but I also noticed a "lot" of new title additions today on "VUDU TUESDAY". Fantastic as that is, the problem is that 90% are purchase only.

              Regards

Yep. Warner Bros. is the only rent/buy on same day studio.

                  Re: The Heartbreak Kid

I have verified that The Heartbreak Kid is not showing up in the HD collection that is on the Find Movies page. However, if you go into Explore Genres and select "HD Movies" it is available there.

The collection may not be around forever, and it may not contain ALL the HD titles. I am waiting for word back on if it contains all the titles.

                    Re: The Heartbreak Kid

From what I understand that collections are just that, collections or samples grouped together. So the HD collection on the find moives page would just be a sample of the total HD offering.

                      Re: The Heartbreak Kid

Ron is correct. The collections are just a sampling of movies in a given genre that are compiled by Vudu staff members. They may or may not have all the movies for that genre. The best way to find HD movies is to use the HD filter in the Explore Genres section.
