I'm really glad it's working out for you. I really like mine too because the Harmony has a backlight to help me press the right buttons when I'm watching a late night movie.

I not really expecting a reply, but I'm now wondering if you can control the annoying bright LED lights on the back of the VUDU box or not with your remote??

I disagree...I think the major point being made is that some folks want to use a universal remote and others may not. What you are seeing in this forum is those that have commited to their universal remote. You can't make that type of judgement with such a small sample (8 not counting the VUDU folks and the moderators).

Fair enough. I guess I read more into it. I thought you were saying that anyone who switched to using the universal would never go back to the factory remote. My apologies.

"Most Excellent". I guess I hadn't played with the buttons enough.

Robert, How can I NOT reply? How in the hell did you remember that months ago I complained about the LED lights? or perhaps it's not that you have an incredible memory but that you, too, are bothered by the lights?
In either case, I'm quite certain that my x-10 won't be able to control those lights, so I resorted to 'hi-tech' electrical tape! My Vudu is in my totally light controlled HT room, so those lights were really noticeable.

That quote came from jleavens...and with most posts here on the boad its just one of many opinions.

I think Justin was talking about someone who was new to Harmony remotes. They are a completely different breed, IMO, and are worth it for their guest-friendliness alone. However, I personally find the ability to remap on my computer any function to any key via the drop-down lists or type in my own labels for the soft buttons (those residing alongside the LCD) the most important.

No, we just had another user last week complain about the lights as well. We told him black electrical tape over them will work.

Toad-Boy was just trying to be funny.

It even says so in my signature

Yes, I'm one of those people who has always shuddered at the idea of having to explain to a visitor how to do something like turn on the TV or maybe change the channel once it was on. The Harmony changed all that.

I think I even use the Vudu more now that I don't have to hunt for the remote.

Does anyone know what the return policy is for the magic decoder ring??

I read the instructions multiple times, but can't figure how to properly calibrate it. So it must be defective.

Remember Selective Availability with GPS? We have that with your decoder ring. It's accurate give or take a few weeks!

So I guess you mean that if I target a bomb in Iraq, I might hit Iran instead? That would be a bummer!

I actually figured out a better way a little while ago.

I found that if I use your Way Back Machine set to a start date of Jan 1 2009, I was able to read some of the upcoming forum posts and precisely pinpoint the exact realease date. The decoder ring wasn't really that far off after all!! But I guess you already know that...

By looking at posts from MS-Yahoo.com, I also now know who our next leader is too, if anyone's interested!
