I'm not sure what it will come with. We'll have to get customer support involved. That said, when we were sent the information for testing, we did get sent an XCF file I believe. I know there as a file with the needed things for the Pronto.

We'll try to get customer support to put up a FAQ on the IR programming and how it gets set up.

Your remote most certainly should be compatible. I know there were testers with Prontos.

        Re: IR support

I received the Pronto xcf file from Vudu Support. My older Pronto uses ccf files. I loaded the Pronto software for their newer remotes and opened the xcf file and extracted the codes. Since I haven't received my ir dongle yet, I have no way of testing them.

So are you saying that if I had the correct cable I could program my remote from my computer?
            Robert,

Not all URC remotes have the JP1 connector and if you do put one it it may not have the URC chip in it for programming. A lot of folks about two years ago started to complain about this on the boards.

I learned my lesson when I had one of their moderately expensive remotes and it didn't have codes for one of my devices. I ordered a kit and thought I was in heaven with the software. Then it came time to download it after I re-assembled the remote and no sync with the computer. After a couple of messages on the board they said that my model didn't have the darn interface chip in it. Well there went 90 bucks for a remote and 35 dollars in hardware to program it.

The Pronto codes are now in the original message of this sticky.

The last universal remote I bought didn't have codes for my DirecTV HD DVR and I started to get ****y on the phone wth them when they told me that. Then the rep said "put the remote up to the phone" and I'll be damned if they didn't send the codes acoustically over the phone.

                I was impressed.

PS - The IR support for the Vudu rocks. I've got my Harmony 890 programmed now and the "cobra" is now in the drawer. Thank you engineering for the Page Up/Down commands!

What I'd really like to see next are remote commands that go directly to areas like "My Movies", "Find Movies", etc.

                    Re: IR support

I have an updated xcf file for the pronto tsu9400 with support for netremote and IR. I'll get that out here shortly...

It should work for the 9600 as well.

Here is the pronto configuration file for the TSU 9400. It includes IR and netremote support for the VUDU box.

You can set up a macro for the Harmony and assign a button to that Macro. so yes, it can be done...

Yes I did that with the OneForAll (URC) guys and they told me that even though my remote supprted over the phone updates I needed a new "ROM" to so that my TiVO features could be implemented. They said it would take 4 weeks after they received the remote. Phooey.

That is when I stopped buying their remotes.

You should call Hilliary on the phone call at 3 am. I'll bet she'll acoustically send your remote the launch codes, even though her Caller ID shows "Out of Area"!!

                                Re: IR support Harmony 890

                                Hello-

I also have a harmony 890 remote. I have found the vudu box under digital set top box in the harmony software, but have not been able to locate it when I try to set up an activity. I'm not sure if I should be using the watch tv, watch dvd, home theater pc or which activity will allow the vudu box to become an active choice amongst the devices. If anyone could help that would be great. Thanks.

                                Steven
