      The same defect (especially coupled with uneven bandwidth) can cause unnecessary buffering, so perhaps your issue will also be fixed or reduced.

      We've seen an increase in buffering recently that was directly related to the Level3-versus-Comcas conflict. Other ISPs and backbone providers are possibly interfering with traffic in a bid to gain negotiation leverage.
      Just a little more info: I have Verizon FIOS as my internet provider, the first scenario does not apply in my case, the only time I download a film is usually overnight, no other activity is taking place.....I hope it's not a hard drive issue, I am able to play films on the drive with no problem....

      Your last point makes sense, I know about the Comcast-Level 3 tussle, it's interesting about the possibility of ISPs interfering with traffic regardless of the reason.....If that is the case it could cause a problem for streaming in general......It gives me comfort knowing I can fill up my hard disk with owned films to avoid such problems....Now if I could get a larger disk, LOL!
