    help ! ..'share to FB/Twitter' prompt .. remove ??

    hello ...

hoping someone has had this same issue and can help:

when trying to watching content via Vudu (specifically an XLR8R pod cast and an episode of Entourage) after a few minutes I get a full screen prompt that asks if I want to 'share this to Facebook or Twitter' ... below this is says 'done'

... and NO I do not want to share this. I want this prompt to never appear !

I have selected done but this only returns me to the main menu of Vudu and does not continue playing the content. I have also tried waiting to see if the prompt would go away on it's own after a few seconds. ... it does not.

I should also note the prompt appears at the same time it says 'buffering' .. and through about 10 tries it only appears simoultaineously with the buffer message.

I spoke to CS at Vudu and they claim it is not them but rather the content providers. ... this I find hard to believe. It is very clear it is an interface generated message and NOT a content provider.

I am viewing on a Sharp Aquos hardwired-ethernet.

this looks like a great service but this is driving me insane !

can anyone shed some light on this ?????? ... please ?

    thanks in advance

P.s I have since found this on the forum but no help ... and the software for the Sharp is current.

I have the same problem, and I see noones in any hurry to solve it.
I've gone from setting up Vudu, to never wanting to see it again. Now I just stream netflix, and without any of the agrivation.
The 2 minute movie preview plays fine, even hdx, but once I buy them in SD, theyr'e suddenly unavailable at this time, try again later.
If I wanted Facebook or Twitter on my TV, I would have connected a PC to it, and theres not even a choice to remove it. I'm used to bloatware on my PC and phone, but now on my $2200.00 TV?????

I tested most of the pod casts today and did not see them end prematurely. So i'll see if can test on each specific device. The screen that is displayed at the end of each pod cast asks if you would like to share on Facebook or twitter for me as well, there is no way around that currently.

To me this sounds more like an issue with your account. Somehow you do not seem to be able to purchase or rent a movie if I understand you comments correctly. My guess is that because of that error our software thinks that you completed watching the movie and asks you to rate it.
Can you please send your device ID to Dan so that he can download your logs?

It's happening on Techzilla for sure I have just tried to watch one and it starts up and then immedatly goes to the prompt to share on Twitter and Facebook.

This cropped up before with Mossberg and Attack of the show. Haven't tried any video's yet from this group to see if the problem is back for them also.

This probably means that we have issues playing these particular podcasts, but rather than just exiting out we ask you for the rating.

I'm not encountering the same issue with Techzilla. It plays the full 44 mins for the latest episode.

Ok I tried Tekzilla with their 44 minute episode and it started to play just fine and 3:30 into it by BX100 box rebooted. Then after the reboot I was able to play all the way though the episode.

I also did a couple of Mossberg's and Attack of the Show and they played fine also.

So I guess we are ok execpt for the unexplained reboot.

I'll give it another try today as well. Let me know if you see any that don't play through in the future.

hello ... original poster here ...

I am out of the country until middle of June and am not able to access my tv to help with info.

my original posts contain all the info. ... I do not have a device. I am hard wired direct from ethernet to my television.

imho it is a firmware prob with selected tv?s (?)

thanks for the help (and it?s bittersweet to see I am not alone)

                            ok ..

I have returned and am encountering the same problems stated in my OP. It appears as though nothing has changed.

I did see a more recent post from another user having the very
                            same issues.

did a network update and all software is up to date.

would very much like to resolve this .. and remove yet another intrusion of facebook from my life.

                            thank you
