Hey I have a co-worker that lives in VA....he said its been too wet to work in the garden...is telling me a fib? Its been too wet here in the Chicago area to start cool season stuff like radishes. I just have mud for soil right now...
I live in Massanutten in the Shenandoah Valley, and it's not too wet here, seems that every time we get rain the next day is really windy and able to dry things out. Guess thats why they are putting a wind turbine farm down the road in Highland county

    Please try :
    (1) Switch to 720p and do not confirm, are we falling back to 1080i?
    (2) Repeat the test with 1080p, is the problem reproducable?

After you performed the test please let me know the results.
After selecting 720p and not confirming it the set reverted back to 1080i, I also tried 1080p again and in 20 seconds it reverted back to 1080i this time maybe I did slightly move the scroll wheel the first time and didn't notice--- Thanks all

I could see someone accidentally doing that. I accidentally scroll when I am selecting things occasionally. If you are just frantically clicking when your screen goes black it could happen. Remember Chico ordering movies?

Oh right.... It was a long trip to your Vudu (especially in an iron lung) and I was too busy reminiscing about the good ole days at Lowry.

Anyways the screen says "Resolution has been changed. Choose OK to keep this setting".

There are 2 options: "Cancel" and "OK". The default is on "Cancel" and you have to down arrow to "OK" then select Enter.

Well that was poor planning. I always have my Vudu with me when I'm in Denver (I was stationed at Lowry AFB in Denver, near East 6th Ave, for a few years. The base is now closed).

Anyways I had some extra time and went to your Vudu, which by the way is 2,400 miles from San Diego. But hey, I have lot's of frequent flyer miles.

I set your Vudu to 720p and now know the answer to your question.

It just one of the things I'm willing to do for my fellow forum buddies!!!

    Best Regards

Just do like Volker instructs and set your VUDU resolution to something lower than your current setting that you know your tv supports and you will be able to see exactly what's needed to confirm the change.

They would never know they did it because they wouldn't have seen anything on the screen.

The confirmation should require several actions. For a Windows computer, you either have to move the mouse or tab to the "Ok" button and then push it (or hit enter). You would be very unlikely to do that accidentally. With the limited buttons available on the Vudu remote, it woud be more challenging to really avoid accidental confirmation.

I tried your test for fun.

After I set it to 1080p my screen displays "incompatible signal". Then goes blank for about 20 seconds. Then I get the setup screen again with the video resolution set back 1080i.

So I can verify it works as advertised with my VUDU box.

Maybe his tv is unable to reset on it's own after getting an incompatible signal??

    Regards

It's been kinda wet here too!!

Now I'm beginning to see NA9D's point about water affecting the ability to watch Directv!!
