Understanding when the 48 hours to watch starts?

I have the VUDU box and want to download movies to the HD to watch later (I watch a movie then pre rent/download one for the next time and have it waiting) . After the Source Code audio miss fire I decided that before I rent/download I would do the 2 minute preview to confirm 5.1 audio. Tonight I previewed The Adjustment Bureau and then hit to rent. I plan on watching it later in the week or weekend. Now it says I have 48 hours to view, which I cant do. So I have wasted $5.99. How do I confirm (checking info is not accurate) a move has 5.1 and then download to the HD to watch at a later date without using preview and starting the 48 hour clock?

I tried to delete The Adjustment Bureau and re rent so it would be available when I can watch but can't find a way. Now I have to wait until next time I fire up the HT then re rent and pay again and wait until next time to watch. I hate spending $12 to watch one move when I can buy the BD for only a couple of more $ and have to watch again and again

...adding to my question. If the 48 hour clock starts when you do the 2 minute preview then what happens if you wait 48 hours to rent? Do you get a "new" 30 days to start and 48 hour to view window?

      Julien,

This may be easier to explain over the phone, so i would suggest giving us a call at 888-554-VUDU.

If you are watching the two min free preview and hit rent, it will just continue the movie and start the viewing period. So if you want to rent but watch later you need to be at the UI.

The "more info" tab on the device, will have the correct format. DD+Stereo, DD5.1 whatever it may be.

We can credit you back for the rentals, send me a pm with your email address on your account, or call us

No worries, I'm going to watch tonight. Had a change of schedule. I think I understand what I did wrong and see if I've got it.

        1) After the preview exit completely back out and don't hit rent at the end of the preview.
        2) Basically start over and go back to movie and then rent and select Download and Watch Later (I Think).

Will doing it this way give me 30 days to view?
