    VuDu merchandise?

    Hey mods:

How can we get our mitts on some cool VuDu schwag (t-shirts, etc...)

    http://gizmodo.com/photogallery/gizs...008/1001121020

I like the logo a lot and it's free advertising. They also should be giving these out to the evangelists for free ;-).

Or at least have some give-aways on the forums to spice up the traffic a bit.

    Just an idea...

I looked at the rest of the pictures. What was going on there? Were they using VUDU boxes for snow shoes and VUDU remotes for ice skates???

I'm not sure. Some t-shirts are known to exist. There's a handful of rare collectibles out there that have the original web url on them: www.vudulabs.com (Some artistic dude in Seattle probably got a nice sum of money to give up vudu.com. Go search the "Way Back" machine for the original vudu.com site! ). But I don't have one of those...Mine are the correct URL.

I don't know if there's any more swag available right now...Maybe JohnA could elaborate..

          Wow that's interesting.

I used to own the name Ampage.com and I sold it to some artistic dude for a nice sum of money a few years ago! (Seriously)

            Yep, that was me.

The event was a Gizmodo readers get-together, organized by Brian Lam.

Some companies came to have us play with their toys (Nokia N95s, 8G zunes, Smith goggles with built in fans, a water and shock proof Olympus camera...).

Since the vudu box is not really a snow toy, we just gave one away during the raffle that Brian did when we all met for a well deserved lunch break.

In addition to the box I also brought some t-shirts to Alpine... ...so to get one you just had to show up there.

Brian is planning to do the gizmodo readers winter meet again next year...

...and I'm hoping to be there again as well.

            Hagen.

I like the new Vudu site much better.

Can you imagine my surprise last year when the company was named Vudu and they gave the website as wwww.vudulabs.com. I was like, "Why didn't they just choose www.vudu.com?? After all, what are the odds of it existing already - it's a word made up in some marketing contest or something like that. It's a word like Altria or Joost or similar!" Much to my chagrin, it was taken and I explored the old vudu website. Yeesh. I wonder how much he sold the domain for...
