    Movie Previews

Newbie here. Just bought two Vudus (one for downstairs, one for the bedroom) as my family are hooked on the Vudu concept and are ready to finally cancel our Netflix subscription for it. Question has come up however, and am not sure if it's been answered elsewhere, so let me apologize it its repetitious. But does Vudu offer movie previews? Also, most movies that I scroll through do not have any "posters" or visuals on the movie. Is that because my box has not fully updated? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

Yes, that is because your box has not been fully updated. Once your box is completely seeded and up to date, you will see movie posters and trailers. Keep in mind that not all movies have trailers, but a lot of them do.

Why is it that some movies have previews and some do not. I find it really frustrating to not have them. Really valuable for movies you haven't seen yet.

Agreed. I wish I knew but if the content owners don't provide Vudu with a preview, then there's no way they can air one. There seems to be more and more previews coming and I expect this to continue to improve in the coming months.

I've mentioned this before. When your using a PhazGorzmic DVR like Directv, there VOD offerings will let you watch the first few minutes of the movie before having to pay for it.

It's probably not as good as a professionally made trailer, but in lieu of one, you still get a pretty good idea of whether you think the movie is worth watching or not.

Many movies the first few minutes are just credits, which wouldn't be much of a preview.

I've a great idea. Why doesn't VUDU just let us watch the movie? Then if we like it we have an option to pay for it afterwards.

That's a stupendous idea. Why don't they disable HDCP on the HDMI port as well!

Well since the "rich" always end up paying for all the free stuff for everyone else, I guess it will stop before all the fun gets to them. Besides, the "rich" won't qualify. And given that you have at least 2 homes and a vacation spot and that you retired early, I think you probably qualify as "rich."

Yea that's the rub, there is no such thing as Free. When I go down to use my Free Health Care, not only will I have to wait in line for Dr. Sleaze. I'll get a bill in the mail for my visit, and everyone elses too. Sigh.... So much for the American Dream.

Not having previews on all the titles bites. Sometimes it defies logic too as there are previews for old stuff but not newer content.

P.S. Having high-quality full-screen previews would be nice too. Not a deal-breaker for me personally, but I think I've seen some people complain that Vudu lacks in the department compared to ATV.

Previews are provided by the content providers. Why they don't provide previews for every movie is beyond me. I know Vudu would love to have a preview for every film they carry.

As for full screen, there was a time a month or so ago when there were some full screen HD previews you could buy at no charge. Those went away. But that makes me believe that something might be up in this department.

But then again, "I know nothing. I know nothing!"
